This week sees the release of two highly anticipated instalments in long running franchises, NBA 2K13 and Resident Evil 6.
Resident Evil 6: Available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 (with a PC release slated for 2013), players will get to choose from three scenarios each with their own protagonist. Players will be able to aim and move at the same time now compared to the previous 2 games. There will also be an online drop-in/drop-out co-op feature. Agent Hunt mode will allow players to take control of random enemies in another player’s game. Other features include skill points, a new cover mechanic and dodging.
NBA 2K13: Available for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC and PSP (later for the Wii U); it’s the latest edition in 2K’s long running NBA series. It features an all new control stick where all dribble moves as well as shooting, passing and post moves are mapped to the right analog stick promising more control than ever. Shots are now created dynamically and the game will use new collision physics for more realism.
Another notable release this week is NiGHTS Into Dreams HD, a HD re-release of the 1996 Sega classic available on PSN and XBLA.
