Square Enix celebrates with a Final Fantasy Anniversary Box Set

The Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Event isn’t until tomorrow, but that isn’t stopping Square Enix on dropping a bombshell announcement on the eve of the series birthday.

Set for release on December 18th, the Final Fantasy Anniversary Box Set will include every main Final Fantasy title released over the past 25 years. We say “main” because the box set isn’t going to be coming with any of the spin-offs.

  • Final Fantasy (PS one, 1 disc)
  • Final Fantasy II (PS one, 1 disc)
  • Final Fantasy III (PSP, 1 disc)
  • Final Fantasy IV (PSOne, 1 disc)
  • Final Fantasy V (PSOne, 1 disc)
  • Final Fantasy VI (PSOne, 1 disc)
  • Final Fantasy VII International (PS one, 4 discs)
  • Final Fantasy VIII (PSOne, 4 discs)
  • Final Fantasy IX (PSOne, 4 discs)
  • Final Fantasy X (PlayStation 2, 1 disc)
  • Final Fantasy XI Vana Del Collection 2 (PlayStation 2, 1 disc)
  • Final Fantasy XII (PlayStation 2, 1 disc)
  • Final Fantasy XIII (PlayStation 3, 1 disc)

Yes that’s right, PSOne discs are making a come back with the the Final Fantasy Anniversary Box Set. The set will weigh in at a staggering 5-kilograms and will cost a whopping ¥35,000 ($450 USD), only available through Square Enix’s eShop.

As a bonus, the box set will feature an entirely new exclusive illustration by Yoshitaka Amano. To sweeten the box set even more, there will also be certain bonuses like:

  • Special Anniversary Disc
  • Crystal Art Works Visual Art Collection
  • 2 disc Final Fantasy Anniversary Music CD
  • Mini replica of Amano Visual and Stand
  • FFXIV Mogu Mogu Earring Item Download Code

Unfortunately, there is no word if the Final Fantasy Anniversary Box Set will be available outside of Japan at the moment. So for now, if you fancy this box set then start saving up as importing isn’t going to be particularly cheap.
