3DS XL now out in US, back up SD card before transferring

The 3DS XL is now available in North America for $199 which includes the AC adapter that’s missing from the Japanese and European versions.

It features a larger screen and a better battery life. The 3DS XL’s launch is accompanied by New Super Mario Bros. 2.

Based on advice from GoNintendo, you should back up your 3DS SD card before transferring to the new 3DS XL. Users report loss of eShop content and save files. Content can be re-downloaded however save files will be gone for good so remember to back it up.
