GTA gets blamed again for real life violence

GTA gets blamed again for real life violence

The Korea Herald has reported that five teenage members of a motorcycle gang attacked a drunken man and police believes the teens were trying to copy scenes from a video game.

The 31 year-old victim was sitting on a curb in southern Seoul when the assault happened on Sunday at 4 a.m. Police have requested arrest warrants for two of the teens and the remaining three are in police custody.

Police believed that the teens were trying to emulate scenes from Grand Theft Auto 4 which The Korea Herald pointed out “features the main character wielding guns and escaping in stolen vehicles including motor bikes.” The teens didn’t carry any firearms.

No other details regarding the police’s reasoning to why they have put the blame on GTA 4.
