Sony reveals “Cross Buy” — buy 1 version, get the other free

Sony continues to enhance their cross platform features with the PS Vita and PlayStation 3. Announced during their gamescom 2012 press conference, players will be able to buy purchase “Cross Buy” certified games on the PS3 and get their corresponding PS Vita for absolutely — nothing.

Heading the list on the Cross Buy feature is PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale. Ratchet & Clank: QForce and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will follow suit next.

Cross Buy doesn’t just stop for the PS3 and PS Vita. Later in the year, Cross Buy will also be a feature for PlayStation Mobile which allows consumers to buy an Android developed game on a PlayStation Mobile certified device and get them for free on the PS Vita. You basically just pay once to have your games over devices you own, provided they are PlayStation Mobile certified of course.

We certainly think this is a good incentive for PlayStation owners and moving forward, it’ll be even better when remote play comes into full effect for the PS Vita and PS3.
