Ouya Kickstarter ends at over $8.5 million

Ouya, the Android-based open-source console’s Kickstarter campaign has just closed. The final numbers are huge, $8,596,475 pledged from 63,416 backers, well surpassing their goal of $950,000.

From the beginning of Ouya’s Kickstarter project until the end, it has gained support and backing from various parties like Square Enix, Namco, a few multimedia applications and some indies.

Backers of the Ouya Kickstarter can expect their consoles some time in March 2013. More news will be coming of the console so stay tuned with us.
