DayZ creator Dean Hall has said that the standalone version of DayZ could be finished in the next few months and released before Christmas.
Speaking to VG247, the standalone version will see a lot of improvements and new content such as base building to encourage people to buy the game.
“I want to see it become a standalone game, following the Minecraft model of a low price point, but that will only work if we say that everyone is going to pay,” said Hall. “In order for people to not feel ripped off we need to have a load of new content; so, things like base-building, tidying and cleaning up animations and add ragdoll physics as the like.”
Hall is still currently trying to get a deal done with either ArmA 2 developers Bohemia Interactive or with another company and said that he has gotten a number of investment offers.
The DayZ mod is fast approaching 1 million unique players.
