Gamers looking for a simple plug and play solution for capture and streaming need not look further. The Elgato Game Capture HD system is an external USB capture device that records up to 1080i source video. It works on everything from PC laptops to the Macbook Air. It doesn’t require a PCIe or ExpressCard slot to work, it just plugs right into your USB 2.0 and does work. All of the h.264 encoding is done on the device and it’s also powered via USB. So there’s no need for external power and it only requires a minimum of dual-core cpu to run. We will have a fully detailed review posted next week.
