Once again with the new year of games, comes a new year of accessories. Who better to outfit your consoles than Madcatz. They have everything from wireless headsets to dog fight games and it’s all quality goods. Let’s check out what’s loaded in their clip for this fall.
Tritton Warhead 7.1
I was first introduced to the Warhead at E3 2011. It is the end game of wireless headphones and it’s one of the few that has Microsoft’s stamp of approval and wireless technology. Most “wireless” headsets require that stupid ass audio cable connection to your “wireless” Xbox 360 controller. Using Microsoft’s license wireless tech, Madcatz has produced a ‘true wireless’ headset that is a serious beast. It supports 7.1 Dolby Digital audio, has two rechargeable batteries and a 5.8ghz wireless signal. The receiver sports some pretty lights showcasing the different sound modes and EQ settings. It has on ear controls to easily tailor your sound experience and also supports the Xbox on-screen battery indicator to let you know when to swap batteries. It sports Amplified 50mm Speakers with Neodymium Magnets for quality game sound and also has a removable microphone.
WiiU
With the impending release of the WiiU this fall, Madcatz already has a line up of cool accessories for both the system and the WiiU controller.
First up is the Power Up Charge Dock which is not only a vertical stand for your WiiU controller, but also a charger. The same design is used in the Wii Power Up Remote Charge Dock. Also coming in for the WiiU controller is the Flipstand Protective Cover. Not unlike what you see available for tablets, this protective cover is black, covers the WiiU screen and center body.
Kunai
Kunai is Tritton’s new headset line and there’s something for pretty much every system being made. Using the familar Tritton headset design, the Kunai headsets come with microphones, volume controller and comfortable ergonomic design. The Kunai will be available for WiiU, 3DS, Playstation VITA and Playstation 3.
AV8R & Damage Inc.
AV8R is the return of the classic Saitek flight controllers except it’s for consoles and PC. Each controller has subtle differences but they basically feel and function the same. The throttle controls are a part of the stick and face buttons are on the top of the stick opposite the bright red trigger. Damage Inc. is Madcatz’s new combat flight sim for consoles and PC. There will be a collector’s edition that includes the stick, the game and some stickers for customization.
Clearly Madcatz continues to produce quality accessories and games every year. I’ve been searching for the perfect wireless headset and the Warhead is on my radar. I’ve been very happy with the Primer headset but I definitely want the premium version of their headset line. For MLG Pro Controller owners, they had a selection of new cable colors, extenders to raise the height of your analog sticks and new glossy plates in white! 2012 is going to be a great year for games and accessories. Are you ready?
