Week in gaming [25-1 July 2012]: The Amazing Spider-Man, Dawnguard, ME3 Extended Cut

This week sees the release of The Amazing Spider-Man, Mass Effect 3‘s Extended Cut DLC and Skyrim‘s DLC, Dawnguard.

The Amazing Spider-Man: A third-person open-world action game developed by Beenox; it is the tie-in game for the movie of the same name. The events of the game is set after the movie. It’s available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, DS, 3DS and Wii.

Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut: The DLC is to expand on the endings and is available for free. It has been revealed that the DLC has an additional ending included. It’s currently available for the Xbox 360 and PC while the PlayStation 3 version will be available next week.

Skyrim Dawnguard: The first DLC for Skyrim is more of an expansion pack and focuses on the Dawnguards and the vampires they’re hunting. It’s available on the Xbox 360 and will be on the PlayStation 3 and PC one month later.

This week will also see the release of Penny Arcade: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 for the PC and Mac. Another notable release is Spec Ops: The Line developed by Yager Development. It’s a third person squad-based shooter.
