Nintendo announces 3DS XL, coming to US on August 19

Still no right thumbstick

North America will be getting the newly announced 3DS XL (3DS LL in Japan) on 19 August for $199.99. It will be available in black, red and blue and will come with a 4GB SD card.

The top screen measures at 4.88 inches which is 90% larger than the original 3DS while the bottom touch screen is at 4.18 inches. The battery will last a little longer than the original, 3.5-6.5 hours for 3DS games and 6-10 hours for DS games. The XL version is still missing a right thumbstick.

The European and Japanese versions will have its power adapter sold separately to cut costs as it supports the current 3DS AC adapter. The US version will be sold with the adapter.
