Week in gaming [11-17 June 2012]: Gravity Rush, Lollipop Chainsaw

Only two notable releases this week, Gravity Rush for the PlayStation Vita and Lollipop Chainsaw for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Gravity Rush: A cel-shaded action adventure role-playing game developed by Sony Japan Studios for the PS Vita where you play a girl named Kat that gets gravity manipulation powers from a black cat. The game also features role-playing elements such as leveling up. Reviews have been positive throughout, you can read our review of the game here.

Lollipop Chainsaw: A hack-and-slash game for the PS3 and Xbox 360 starring Juliet Starling, a cheerleader fighting zombies in a high school. Her main choices of attacks are a set of light punches and kicks with a heavy attack using her chainsaw. It was developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, makers of Killer 7, the No More Heroes series and Shadows of the Damned among others.

Other releases this week are DiRT Showdown for the PS3 and Xbox 360 and Babel Rising – a god game using the PS Move and Kinect – for the PSN and XBLA.
