Square Enix’s Luminous Studio engine demo is indicative of next-gen Final Fantasy

Square Enix showed off a real-time tech demo called “Agni’s Philosophy” at E3 and it’s amazing. The demo was made using Square Enix’s Luminous Studio engine which is meant for developing next generation games.

Square Enix aims to close the gap between real time and pre-rendered computer graphics. According to GameInformer, chief technology officer Yoshihisa Hashimoto demonstrated that it was real time by changing the hair colour of the priest and other elements such as lighting and playing the trailer again.

A Final Fantasy theme was chosen for the demo as the series is known for ancient magic and advanced science coexisting in a near-futuristic world.
