Korean government raids Blizzard offices over Diablo 3 complaints

According to a report by the Korea Times, the Korean Fair Trade Commission has raided Blizzard’s Seoul office over numerous player complaints that they were refused a refund for Diablo 3.

The FTC said Blizzard is suspected of violating the country’s electronic commerce and commercial contracts law and gathered related documents and other evidence during the raid.

A number of Diablo 3 players complained about the server issues and asked for a refund which was denied by Blizzard citing sales contract terms. The FTC says these terms are disadvantageous to the consumers.

The FTC are also studying if Blizzard should be held liable for “ill-preparation” for unexpected player traffic. Some investigators expects the FTC to issue a mandate to Blizzard requiring them to refund to complaining consumers.
