It seems Sony wants to interrupt your gameplay with ads

That’s right, Sony Computer Entertainment America has filed for a patent for in-game advertising to interrupt gameplay.

It works by first giving a warning to the player that an in-game advert will be coming up, the ad will then suspend “playing of the interactive content,” and the game will resume after the ad has finished playing.

This is definitely a new low for both Sony and the gaming industry and while we hope that it will not be implemented, the fact that a patent was filed indicates the opposite.
