Molyneux reveals ’22 Experiments’, first game expected in six weeks time

Speaking to BeefJack at Imperial College London’s Games and Media Event, Peter Molyneux has revealed “22 Experiments”, the new project his independent studio, 22 Cans is currently working on.

It will be a series of experimental games made throughout the process of making their final product. Although no platforms were revealed, Molyneux hopes to release the first game in the series within six weeks.

Molyneux said that games by 22 Cans will be “very very different, unusual, I think very intriguing things.” and that the studio aims “to use some of the technology which is around in the world today in a single product and a single experience, in a way that no one else has used it,”

“I am fed up to the back teeth of consuming other people’s visions – of directors’ and screenwriters’ ideas of what a hero should be; of novelists writing stories that they think are good, but I think are rubbish. Why can’t we have stories about me? I want to have my own unique experiences.”

Molyneux is always looking to innovate and his recent exit from Microsoft to open up his own independent studio looks like it will be good not only for him but for all gamers.
