Siliconera has reported that a team consisting of FFVII and FFVIII scenario writer Kazushige Nojima, FFVI and FFIX art director Hideo Minaba, acclaimed composer Nobuo Uematsu and Baten Kaitos character designer Nakaba Higurashi has produced a role playing game for iOS devices called Borderwalker.
The RPG’s strong point lies in its unique battle system where the screen is split into a three by three grid and players are able to use different skills by touching different sections of the grid. There is a colosseum to fight in, dungeons to explore and bonus scenarios that will unlock secrets once completed.
The player, also known as the Borderwalker is tasked in restoring the world to its former state. The world was split into two, a Day Land and a Night Land and a border separating both parts. Individuals who are born during an eclipse will be able to cross both realms.
The game is currently available on iTunes Japan for 900 yen which is about $11.
