    Listening now Monty sounds different

  2. Great show guys. I had my doubts, but after been testing out the Windows 8 developer preview for a week now, really I like it.  I really like the way you can run apps simultaneously side-by-side.    I can read my mail, while working on another app at the same time.  I also like the search options and how you can add your control panel on the Metro interface.  I wish they bundled it with office 15. So far it looks promising, but I’m curious to see what developers would make for this platform and the price point of the tablets.  That will be a deciding factor for consumers.  Monty/Dirty- Apple is a hardware company at its core.  They dropped legacy app support in OSX Lion just to sell their new hardware.  When Intel releases a new desktop/notebook CPU, apple releases a new version of their MacBook pro/IMac with that processor.  They’re the set-top box market as well.  You can also make the argument that you aren’t allowed to install or run their OS on non-Apple hardware.  This is to protect their hardware sales.  I do agree with Monty that Windows Phone is not compelling.   What attract consumers are the apps, especially the ones that set themselves apart from the competition (although I like the Xbox live integration on Windows Phone).  All we can do now is speculate until Windows 8 come out.   What do you guys think of the iPad 3?  Is it worth upgrading from the iPad 2?

    • John A. Agan II says:

while i think the ipad 3 makes all the right hardware upgrades if the ipad 2 is working for you now i wouldn’t recomend upgrading to the ipad 3. they update their products anually so unless there is a feature that you need wait for the next hardware update
