PS Vita Crossplatform Games Promotion

So browsing the web last night I came across an article on the Playstation Blog discussing cross platform games. In Short what I got out of it is Sony is throwing Vita users a bone to promote cross platform gaming with the Vita and PS3.

So basically if you buy one of the Vita games or PS3 games that support cross play then you only have to buy one and get the other free.

If you own already or purchase Wipeout Hd and the DLC for the PS3 plus Wipeout 2048 for the Vita later this spring when the DLC for Wipeout 2048 releases you will get the HD and HD Fury DLC packs free on Vita.

If you purchase or already own Hustle Kings on PS3 you can get it on vita for free. Same if you own it on Vita.

Capcom is doing something a little different by offering users who purchased Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 DLC on the PS3 will be able to get it and use it on the Vita version for free.

This is the type of promotions I like to see. One because I like free, and two because it helps get people accustomed to one of the Vita’s selling points. Hopefully this is not a one time thing and other games that support cross play will follow along, or at least offer a discount. This would be something similar to what they did with the PSP and DVD/Umd videos. I know games cost more than movies but just like the trend is with BlueRay Movies packaged with a dvd and digital version I would like to see this with my Vita and PS3 Games. One can only hope right?
