Army Corps Of Hell Preview

Yesterday I had the pleasure of playing Army Corps Of Hell at SquareEnix’s CES Suite. A few things I noticed right away about the game were the color saturation and it’s similarities to Nintendo’s Pikmin. Think of ACOH as a Pikmin game for adults.

You’re the king of hell who’s in control of 100 demon minions. There are 3 minion types and each type has a different ability. Magi use magic to attack from range, Spearmen attack with spears by hurling themselves at the enemy and Soldiers attack with melee weapons. You can customize your minions with different armor and weapon types. You can also upgrade their attacks and also craft new upgrades.

There’s co-op, rear touch panel capabilities and beautiful full color graphics. The soundtrack is all heavy metal and fits perfectly with the game. I’m hoping SquareEnix releases the sound track separately. We should be getting a copy early for review but we are not sure if Sony will be sending Vita’s out before launch. We’ll keep you posted.
