LG Announces The Worlds Largest OLED TV At 55 Inches

LG just announced the worlds largest OLED TV at a 55 inches. It’s only 4mm thin and weighs in at 7.5kg. The TV boasts LG’s 4-Color Pixel and Color Refiner technology. With 4-Color Pixels and Color Refiner at work you get natural and accurate color. Unlike traditional RGB technology, this tech uses 4 colors: red, green, blue and white. This similar to what happened when you added a separate black ink to color inkjet printers, you got more accurate color. The Color Refiner ensures that the color stays consistent from wider viewing angles. This was somewhat problematic with earlier OLED TV’s.

The TV also boasts infinite contrast ratio and colors that are technically impossible on LCD and LED TVs. It’s also 1,000 times faster than traditional LCD/LED TVs. This means no blurring or ghosting and a crystal clear motion. Other TV’s tried to fix this by increasing the refresh rate, but LG fixes the problem with a faster pixel response time. There have been no numbers given on the actual speed of the display but I’d gamble 1 to 2ms or faster.
