Get Your Geek On: NZXT H2 Classic Medium Tower
I’ve had the chance to work with many towers in my life. In fact, I started building PC’s back in 1992. The NZXT H2 is by far the best case I’ve had the opportunity to work with. It has a solid case design, modular fans, an external sata port and hard drive bay, USB 3.0 compatibility, liquid cooling ports and probably the sweetest looking design I’ve ever seen.
I moved my computer out of my old case into the H2. The cable management in my old case was horrid. There was none. It didn’t help that I’m using a beast of a power supply. The PC Power and Cooling Silencer has enough cables to charm and octopus. This is overkill and it showed in my old case. Even moving it over to the H2, I had to stuff most of the cables into the top drive bay area. I would highly recommend a modular power supply for a case like this.
The scary thing about the H2 is there’s no noise. I powered it on and thought something was wrong because I couldn’t hear anything. I don’t know what NZXT is doing to dampen the sound but it’s damn wonderful. I still occasionally look at the front to see if the lights on when I sit down cuz it’s too damn quiet.
The HD port at the top is pretty convenient. Especially if you’re one of these guys that has lots of drives or would like to back up to an off the shelf disk. It’s like having a toaster on top of your case. The modular fans are easy to clean, cool your hard drives and allow access to them without opening your case. The 3 speed fan control is cool, but I never have to tweak it.
Here’s a short list of the features of the H2 and a little video we made about the case. This sucker goes for $99 on Amazon and it’s worth every penny. I highly recommend the NZXT H2 case and if you are looking for a power supply to go with it, try the Hal90.
