World War Three destroyed the earth as we know it. Twenty years later the survivors of this war live out their lives underground to escape the unlivable surface. This type of living can do things to the mind and in charge of helping people cope and stay healthy is Dr. Albert Tokaj. Soon after you start the game you find that the good Dr. who is in charge of peoples mental health is having some issues of his own. Not only are his issues becoming a problem there has been a plague that has hit the survivors that is making matters more difficult. How Difficult is something the Dr. is about to find out.

The game starts out slow with giving you a tutorial to get you accquanted with the controls. You will be tasked with several go here and find this situations. Your first brush with action is in a bar. You learn how to fight here and its pretty simple. Left click to punch right click to block. When opponent is down hitting v will deliver a finishing blow. The game does let you use a game pad or 360 controller if mouse and keyboard are not your thing. After the fight I noticed I could pick up several different items lying around and use them as weapons. They range from wrenches, lead pipes, hammers, electric prod, axes and guns. As you can guess with these types of weapons there must be lots of gore. Yes there is lots of gore as head shots or several bashes to the head will leave victim decapitated. As well as action there are puzzles to solve, and quick time events. The puzzles are interesting and fit in with whats happening and don’t feel like they are just thrown out there. For example you enter this room and the boilers are about to explode. You are tasked with leveling out the pressure in each container before the time runs out to defuse the situation. Other types of puzzles come in the form of door hacking with your PDA. You are given a set of gears and each gear is associated with a directional push. In order to hack the door you have to get the sequence right. If you get it wrong you start over. This is mostly luck and trial and error.


The Graphics are crisp and detailed. The character models are nicely done. When you focus the camera on top of your character you can see his brush pattern in his hair. The detail extends to the environment as well, all the way to the PDA and keyboards found on desks. The keyboards resemble Logitech gaming keyboards. The details in enemies is nicely done as well and differentiates the level of exposure to the plague each one has been exposed to. The still human but crazy enemies you can see the rage in their face to the cut up clothes and cuts and bruises on their skin. To the highly exposed mutated enemies with their deformities.


I enjoyed my time with the preview version of AfterFall Insanity. If I had to compare it to anything I would say it has a mix of Dead Space and Fear elements in it. There are a lot of suspenseful and what is going on moments in the game that really fit the mood of the game. I’m Sure as the game progresses this will intensify.

I hope the length will make up for all the hype I’ve been giving this game. Would be a shame if it’s quickly over within 5/6 hours.
i cant really tell how long its going to be based on the preview. But if I had to guess there is plenty more because right before it ended things were picking up. I’m also sure there is going to be twists to the plot as well so that might give it some length

yea i just randomly moved the controller and was on top of his head and was like wow you can see that like you where right there.
I am supporting this game based on what they are trying to do for gaming alone!
