Kinect! Kinect! Kinect! That’s the future of Xbox. Microsoft needs to build up their studios more. You guys can’t honestly tell me after watching M$ 2011 Conference that they delivered when it came to the content. I’ll respect them from a business stand point to gain the casual audience but completely alienating the hardcore is just a slap in the face to the gamer. Disney Land: Adventures? Sesame Street? WTF?! Let’s hope GDC/TGS will be different. -_____-

Ya how dare MS make games for kids.  Oh the humanity. /s Why does MS need to build up their 1st party studio’s?  Sony has a TON of studios and look where they are now.  3rd place in total world wide sales.  So how did “$ony’s” 1st party studio’s help them this gen?  MS brought a new level of compitition this gen and did it with their own business plan.  Not every company has to follow the same business plan.  MS used 3rd parties to help create a large exclusive library.  MS is now ALSO focusing more on the casual market, they haven’t alienated any portion of their consumer base.  That’s just a $ony fanboy comment and an ignorant one at that.   Just because a game is exclusive doesn’t mean it’s going to sell well or even have or create a fan base. Just because Sony has more 1st party studios doesn’t mean it’s going to increase sales or increase more customers.  It just means that Sony has more 1st party studio’s. MS has done just fine this gen considering they took a HUGE chunk of the Playstation Market.  Since the release of Kinect, YoY sales have increased more this year than last…and all thanks to the Casual market.  There is room for both, if their wasn’t, Sony wouldn’t have jumped on the bandweagon and made a Wii Clone ie. PS MOVE. Bottom Line, MS haven’t alienated anyone.  They have some of the biggest titles in gaming coming out on their console this year EXCLUSIVELY on the 360 and have the most anticipated EXCLUSIVE coming out next year.  All of which are CORE games.  Not too mention CORE Kinect titles coming out and some Hybrid games that have Kinect features. UFC Personal Trainer: The Ultimate Fitness SystemMadden NFL 12Forza 4Kinect: Star WarsRise of NightmaresCodename DSteel Battalion: Heavy ArmorHauntMass Effect 3 Kinect may not be for everybody, but just because it’s not for you doesn’t mean that you should spread ignorance making outlandish claims like “Microsoft needs to build up their studios more.” or “You guys can’t honestly tell me after watching M$ 2011 Conference that they delivered when it came to the content.”and” completely alienating the hardcore is just a slap in the face to the gamer.”because these comments are just untrue.

      • TL:DR But MOTY is absolutely right. Microsoft sees profit, they’d be fools to not go after it, would they not? MS created yet another reason to buy their system over all others and it’s working. They realize that the heavy hitters they have are still, well, heavy (Halo, Gears, Forza, etc). One could actually conclude that they’re trying NOT to become the next Sega or even Nintendo. Third party development is at an all time high and they are clearly not losing anything because of their lack of first party developmental studios. The question is if it works why attempt to fix it?

      • Same thing on G4′s poll as well as far as purchase intent.  Overall people seem to be extremely happy with MS and the 360: Xbox 360 Tops in Purchase Intent During E3 Xbox 360 has seen plenty of momentum, as NPD noted in its last monthly report that Microsoft’s platform has realized nearly a year and a half of month-over-month unit sales increases. And even during E3, with the spotlight on Nintendo and Wii U and Sony attempting to showcase its new Vita as well as upcoming PS3 games, Microsoft still had the upper hand. EEDAR’s newest retail buyer report points out that Microsoft’s console was the top platform among consumer mindshare and purchase intent during the week of E3 2011. This is the second year in a row Xbox 360 has achieved this. More interestingly, despite Nintendo announcing a brand-new system in Wii U, Microsoft’s press conference at E3 was actually the most watched. “Microsoft’s impressive consumer response from their press conference indicates a high level of interest from consumers on Kinect’s integration into core focused titles,” EEDAR noted. The research group also pointed out that the focus on Halo 4 and Halo Anniversary gave Microsoft some added buzz.

Yea it looks like forza 4 will be the only xbox game i buy this year. I was getting gears 3, but thats looking more like a rental now.

      • Reginald Sutton says:

Gears 3 is the only Xbox game I’m buying this entire year. I wasn’t going by it after that mess of a multi player Gears 2 was but changed my mind when I learned that Gears 3 will have dedicated servers.
