Best Of PAX East 2011 Awards

Best Of PAX East 2011 Awards

Here is our list of the best games we saw at PAX East 2011. We can’t give everything an award and would like to note that just because a game isn’t listed here, doesn’t mean it wasn’t good. We saw a lot of great titles at PAX East and here’s what we thought were the best:

Best Fighting Game

Skullgirls

“Animation that rivals Street Fighter 3 and an engine that fixes everything that’s broke in today’s fighting games.”

Best Racing Game

Jimmy Johnson’s Anything Racing

“A much improved version of the game we saw last December. Tighter controls, better graphics and more vehicles.”

Best MMORPG

Star Wars Old Republic

“A promising MMORPG in a world we are all too familiar with.”

Best First Person Shooter

Battlefield 3

“I can’t say enough about Battlefield 3. It’s simply the best looking FPS made by the best FPS developers.”

Best Multiplayer

FireFall

“A quality FPS/3PS that’s free to play, Firefall is helping to change the world of online gaming.”

Best Co-Op

FEAR 3 F**kn Run

“This was the biggest surprise of the show for many. F**kn Run will get more rotation than most campaigns.”

Best Sequel

Darkness II

“This game surprised the hell out of us. So much so, that I want to play the first one now. Probably the most underrated series in gaming at this point.”

Best New IP

L.A. NOIRE

“Rockstar is finally bridging the gap between video game and interactive entertainment.”

Best Platform Game

Shoot Many Robots

“A surprisingly good shooter that has elements of RPG games.”

Best Indie Game

Shoot Many Robots

“One of the few truly independent games we saw at the show.”
