Final Fantasy Versus XIII Might Be Going Multiplatform – Update

I received this image from a tipster a few minutes ago. It comes from V-Jump magazine. If you look closely you can see Xbox 360 in clear print. I don’t know Japanese so I can’t translate this page. If you speak fluent Japanese and can read this, please send us a note at editor@thebitbag.com.

[Edit]

Bitbag fan Marty translated the text for us. Here’s what he had to say:

Hey there,

For your article on FF versus 13, the print does say it will be x-box 360 and PS3. The word next to the systems is “Kishu” which means “Types of Systems.” Below it says the usual stuff “Maker: Square Enix. Genre RPG, Price: To be announced.”

Interesting how that hasn’t been announced yet. Must be a new publication.

Marty

No matter which way you look at this, pic or not, FF Vs XIII will be a multiplatform title. That is my educated guess based on the relationship of SquareEnix and Microsoft, the fact that FFXIII sold 1.5 million on Xbox 360 without a Japanese release and the fact that we are only now seeing gameplay. The truth will be told at X11 or E3.

  1. Square needs that money since FF14 got them nowhere.

  2. Its a misprint. They confirmed this and apologized.

    • Welp, I would have gone multiplatform with Versus XIII since it’ll take another 3 years before the game is ever released.

      • Man_Of_The_Year says:

Where their’s smoke their’s fire. How is it possible that journalists in the gaming industry “misprint” information that is gaming related? You know either it’s PS3 only or multiplat. Especially for an SE game and one that everyone is watching to see if it ends up Multiplat. My bet is that this is NOT a misprint but rather a leaked bit of information that was not suppose to have been made public yet.

  3. the more ppl able to play the game the better.

  4. Torrence Davis says:

I love the people stating that it should be exclusive. Being exclusive is no benefit to the gamer or the publisher. FFXIII went multiplat to grow the community and sell more games. They sold 1.5m on Xbox 360. I dare anyone to say that it was a fail.

    • because they are insecure parasites. mass effect 2 went to playstation 3, i was delighted, more people getting to play that awesome franchise the better. i dont see what the problem is if they can still play the games themselves. if naughty dog went multiplatform it wouldnt bother me, i’ve still played the brilliant uncharted 1 & 2. what happened to the boycotting of square enix all those people were planning to do? yeah thought so…

  5. Michael Ajibade says:

This game WILL be multiplatform. Not sure why you say “maybe”. Do you know how many magazines and websites have it listed for the Xbox 360 as well? GameInformer even has it listed for both. Here is the real question, who cares? If you do not like, own, or plan on getting the Xbox 360 version; why do you care that it is coming to the Xbox 360 at all? It lacks sense and logic to do so. Then again, one of the traits of a fanboy is to be illogical.

  6. The real question is, now knowing that the game is being developed for both systems, was the incredible trailer that showed glimpses of gameplay held back by the xbox 360. Hindsight being 20/20 of course.

  7. I think you are the only one that actually cares about this game going multi platform.

  8. Post this shit on N4G where it belongs Tor lol.

  9. if this goes to xbox 360 too im done with video games. LOL!

  10. Take a look at Andriasang. It’s said that V-jump really made a mistake and apologized for it. Besides, to people saying that we dont want this to be in 360.I really don’t care if this get ported to the xbox but it should only be developed for PS3 for the game to be in its top form. After that they can get a port for the xbox.

  11. BLAACKSTARR6 says:

I don’t care if it is mutli or not. This will probably be the only Final Fantasy game I get this generation. This and the new Dissidia which will end up taking a year after the Japan release to come out in the US.
