Star Mike: The Journey To NBA2K12

So now that the release of the best basketball video game in the universe is out, and the start of the NBA 2011 season kicking off soon. We figured that looking towards next years installment should begin early. Except, I won’t be talking about game play. Rather instead, I’ll be talking about the music. That’s right, just as much as NBA 2K series is known for its qualitative gameplay, it also has one of the best soundtracks of any game out there. Sure the majority of music for the game is Hip-hop oriented, we’ve had some memoriable music from the series though. One thing 2k Sports has never been shy about is placing unknown artists in the games soundtrack. For instance; NBA 2K11 had a contest where a lucky artist could win a spot on the soundtrack. That lucky win was obtained by Young Automatik, an artist out of the Chicago area. How fitting that not only was Jordan on the cover, but a local artist got a placement look. What more could you ask for?

Well it seems a young aspiring artist by the name of Star Mike has thrown in his hat to make a bid for being on the next NBA 2K title NBA 2k12. Here’s video: “My Journey To NBA 2k12″. The kid is serious.  You can follow him @starmikenyc on
