Exclusives are important because those are the type of games that shows the consumer why you want to buy this system. On PC you don’t see that type of progression in their exclusive titles so that may not mean anything to alot of you but that means something to me, and what that tells me is that consoles year over year are increasing in game quality which is something that the mass market really wants and looks for and spent they money on these consoles for you feel me.

Wrong. Would you say that MAG or SOCOM on PS3 looks better than Modern Warfare 2 on PC? Do you understand why you shouldn’t compare as I just did..?
PC game EQUIVALENTS can look every bit as comparable if not better. Technically the PC game EQUIVALENT is doing much more – both in terms of effects, resolution, AA and triangle count. The fact that you’re talking about the graphics of Star Trek Online and comparing them to GAME X on X360 / PS3 is IDIOTIC. STO is not a FPS, it’s a MMORPG.
MAG has to manage 256 players and support lots of players on screen. Why do you think it’s got worse graphics than MW2? STO has to manage all kinds of stats for huge numbers of players all in real time. The focus of STO’s engine isn’t on the graphics – so what’s the use in comparing the graphics of that against some sexy graphics console game?!
Different genres of games use different engines and do different things – hence they look different. You CANNOT compare “Modern Warfare 2″ with “Heavy Rain” or “Star Trek Online” or “Gran Turismo 5″ or “God of War III”! Get it through your head!
If you want to run comparisons, do them for the same game or at least for games in the same genre where engines attempt to provide a similar experience.
PC gaming is dead because PS3 exclusives aren’t on it? What the fuck dude.
Console is for the mainstream masses.
PC has always been more hardcore. GOW3 and Uncharted aren’t pc games.
Their too simple, they wouldn’t sell on the PC. Those are console games.
PC games are more advanced and less dumbed down. The only things HHG likes is flashy graphics and big explosions, that’s it.
How can you argue with that?
While people like myself appreciate games like EVE, starcraft, DOTA, machinarium, Whispered world etc.
EVE online lol HHG wouldn’t even figure out how to move the spaceship.
The best example is really GOW3. Flashy graphics, everything scripted and QTEs out the ass. That’s HHGs idea of a good game.
Yeah you wait for GOW3 while i wait for The Whispered world. Now HHG would start screaming about skin pealing in god of war and whispered world and machinarium being “cartoon bullshit dog” or some shit. That basically tells you all you need to know.
You know what game i play the most? heroes of newerth.
This is what pc gaming is about. Solid community that consoles cant compete with. Dedicated servers etc. DOTA is one complicated game with a brutal learning curve. There’s no way in hell that it would ever be released for the consoles.
The total war games is another example of a true PC game. Complicated as fuck and you actually have to use your brain and not just bash buttons that flash on the screen (GOW3 and heavy rain).
Now those games are fine and I’m actually looking forward to it. But don’t fucking downplay PC games.
(AND DONT FUCKING DOWNPLAY BLIZZARD THIER THE BEST FUCKING DEVELOPER OUT THERE)
Crysis was released in 2007 and no game so far can match or Has surpass it, on any platform . It’s now 2010 and when crysis 2 comes out u will see 2010 pc tech and nothing on any platform will match it .
As for the games coming out for the pc this year and their “graphics looking outdated” that’s not outdated graphics that’s how the developer decided to design the visuals.just because the tech is there to push graphics doesn’t mean they have to be pushed for the game to be great. The graphics in uncharted didn’t make it the game it is, halflife wasn’t chosen by the world as one of the best ga
es ever because of the graphics even at that time.
HHG You dont know what you are on about. The guy interviewing you is right. First you go on about exclusives then you say graphics are more important then you go back to exclusives (Ant you also do that in your first reply). Make up your mind dude. Also at the start you say AX not ask. If your going to do videos go to some grammar school for god sake.
Anyway on to graphics. Tell us how many console games that are exclusive like PC games that are DirectX 11? The DirectX 11 PC exclusives look a whole lot better than those console exclusives and as a matter of fact the first DX11 game is out (I know its not exclusive) which is Colin Mcrae Dirt 2 which looks a lot better than the console version.
Also a lot of PC games dont look much better than console versions because the games are PORTED to the PC from a console version. You also mention that you have to upgrade every year or six months which is wrong. I have a year and a half computer that can play almost all PC games at maximum settings. Theres only a handful out of thousands of PC games that my PC will not play at maximum settings.
Its a fact that you dont need to upgrade your computer every year to enjoy gaming at better graphics levels than any console. You only need to upgrade your PC every 4 – 5 years to be able to play games with better grtaphics than consoles.
You come across to me as if you just dont like PC gaming and are a console fanboy which if you are you shouldnt use such stupid comments as “PC gaming is dead” because according to steam and games sales PC gaming is far from dead and isnt going to die for another long time. Steam reported a 205% growth last year alone. If thats true then PC gaming is still a big thing and is still growing.
I watched for 3 minutes and stopped watching because its worthless. Same nonsense arguments over and over. Talking to HipHopGamer about PC gaming is retarded, he doesnt have a PC, he has never played games on a PC. Why does this site continue to entertain this nonsense.
Could I write an article for Car and Driver comparing a Nissan 350z to the performance of a BMW M3 if I have never even driven in an M3 before? No, because I wouldnt have any idea what it was like and I would come off sounding like an idiot. Which is exactly how hiphop sounds on this subject.
You bring up starcraft 2 as an example of a huge exclusive and his retort was something close to, ” What Starcraft? You just mouse click here and the guys move.”
After that comment I had no reason to waste any more of my life making my mind retarded.
You can’t argue with him, he says that he’s seen his friends play on PC? WTF!!!!!!! It’s like him watching a porn and saying that he smashed! WTF!!!!!!!!
As far as graphics go and PC gaming you have to remember that everyone has different specs on there PC’s vs Consoles that all have the same specs. PC developers want to sell there games to as many gamers as possible so it makes no since for them to make every game at Crysis level graphics. The PS3′s and Xbox 360′s on the other hand all have the same specs so developers can push every game as far as it can go without the fear of missing some sells like PC devs do.
This is why you see so many games on the PC that don’t push graphics to the Max like consoles, but there is also more freedom to push games visually to the max on PC vs Consoles. I love PC and Consoles for these different reasons.
HHG is just a console fanboy who has NEVER played on a PC. 33 minutes and 56 seconds of video footage and he did not make a single point as to why PC gaming isn’t as “good” as consoles. The only thing he has accomplished is to make himself look like a fool and spout out nonsense.
Hiphopgamer for the most part looked so FOOLISH in this video!! God damn This man constantly makes horrible mistakes in his rebuttals.Always Brings up God of war but never mentions CRYSIS 2(WHICH IS GONNA BLOW AWAY GOD OF WAR GRAPHICALLY)!.
HHG You just dont understand PC gaming so STOP TALKING ABOUT IT!! I swear sometimes i wish Torrence NEVER met this guy,He makes me wanna hate God of war! Torrence PLEASE from now on be extra careful of the people you befriend.
At one point in the video i felt like canceling my pre-order for GOW3!!
HHG your one of the most Ridiculous people i have ever seen! Stop embarrassing yourself! Go back to school!! Read a Fuckin Book or somethin’! Think Before you Fuckin’ speak!
This was a really good video. Torrence is right about your debate skills. When debating you open yourself up a lot. I read your comment and it was very good. Pick your topic and stay with it.
Example: Even though with it’s strong presents PC gaming is taking back seat to the mass market appeal of the Console Market.
lol did you guys drink before you taped this? You all are all over the place and not listening to each other, which is hilarious. It reminds me when be and my relatives used to come over and talk about crazy stuff like things on maps or flat behinds versus round behinds.
The scary part about is though is that none of us drank.
At any rate, if this is about PC in terms of it “being dead” and “episodic content”
- The PC isn’t dead, but rather console gaming has reached a point where the edge in PC graphics doesn’t matter as much anymore (compare Quake III arena console version/PC version to Mass Effect 2 console version/PC version). The PC version used to have extra stuff on top of the top notch graphics (like Gears of War PC vs. Gears of War 360 *or* Quake Wars PC vs 360 and PS3 versions) but as long as programmers don’t push the PC version so it’ll match the console version PC gaming, PC gaming is something no one is missing out on in terms of content; especially since now both PC and console games can have updates on top of DLC. I don’t know how to define the “life” of PC gaming, but I would say that it’s going through a process like the PS3 and 360 are: the PS3 and 360 are going into motion controls (the PS3 more so since the SIXAXIS was there since launch) I think the PC is coming to the point where cheap to free games will dominate, with games like EVE online and MMO’s being the mainstay of payable content. It’s not dead, it’s just not mainstream at this time. BUT LET ME SAY THIS: if that one service that allowed you to stream games with the highest possible PC graphics worked as well as it was hyped-up to be, you would have seen a resurgence in PC gaming. Not a huge one, but bigger than it currently is.
- Episodic content for years vs. new content: I would say that it all depends on how long you play the game. If you play a game for years episodic content and the community support is there, it will make the game worthwhile to have DLC as long as the majority of people enjoy the game. If you like games that focus more on the single player experience, then of course you’ll play it every so often but the next new adventure is what you’re looking for, not the “oh, a new wall in the house” kind of gaming. To me, Warhawk is the best time you can have on a multiplayer game ever, bar none; for me, it even surpassed Halo: so I would and did buy the extra stuff. HAZE, on the other hand, was something to be experiened once (for the lolz) and then returned for another game… the other game being the next big adventure, of course.
- About Graphics: they count, of course, but how? PC’s don’t have the “best graphics” if I don’t have the best gear. So for a PC fan to say that the PC has the best graphics and then say that most people will not experience them is more like a clause rather than a feature. So I would say that the PC has “the best graphics, but…” For example, Crysis 2 will blow everything away, but only those who can get their graphics up to par with the output capabilities of the game.
- Even if I had the best gear, that doesn’t mean I’m using it to play games. I do graphic design, and I game on my consoles more because I hate clutter on my computer. Font, art, document, music, bitmaps, and everything supporting projects can stay. Everything else is trash. When you have to make a logo or quick changes in a quick three-day turnaround; so slowdown, restarts, and freezes = lawsuits and lost clients.
- That point that Jay said about the PC pushing boundaries so that the consoles can get the cheaper version is not entirely correct (especially in the case of the PS3). The Cell Processor’s first public outing was on the PS3, not in any publicly available computer. The Cell Processor is entirely alien in terms of console progression due to public usage.
- You guys argue like close brothers, which makes me love to watch your shows. In the gaming world, you two are simultaneously exotic and unique, yet close to home and well grounded. Don’t change, except for the better, you two.
i stop playing PC games since I bought midway gamecube to PS3, and i respect HHGS with his news, but the minute he talk shit about star craft 2 where its only click and point, that’s a bull, PC HAS TOOO MUCH AI CAUSE OF THE PC POWER and its hrd to control more than 100 units at once than controlling once per character….
HHGS JUST TURNED ME OFF and torrence? who is this guy, I gota respect him !!!!
torrence asked hiphop, “have you seen eve online?” look at hiphop’s reaction, all he had to say was no.lol HHG has no grasp of pc games and their longevity simply because he doesn’t play pc games. he just sounds so silly.
and torrence you’re so right about if you were a pc only gamer, you’ll have alot more money in your pockets. i know i would.
* People buy a XBox to play Halo 3, Mass Effect and Forza.
* People buy a PlayStation to play LBP, KillZone, Uncharted and GT.
* People buy a PC to do work & play games. Yes Star Trek Online. Yes Diablo. Yes WoW. Yes rFactor. Yes multi-platform titles like BFBC2 and Grand Theft Auto…
Any game you buy on a PC today, you’ll be able to play tomorrow, in ten years time and twenty years time. Not only that, but in twenty years, you’ll be able to play even more console games through emulators as long as you didn’t get them from XBL / PSN…
PC games run at higher resolutions, using more triangles, with better AA, lighting, mip mapping, bump mapping and other effects. The cost is NOT important – people pay for hardware at a price point they can afford. The PC is much more flexible in this regard and can be upgraded.
The XBox 360 & PS3 have a limited life span, they’ll be replaced just as the XBox and PS2 have been. By the time a console generation ends, PC hardware is always far & away ahead of it. Many gamers will have switched back to PC gaming by this time. For example, many of my friends are already switching back to PC for BFBC2 – why? The XBox 360 is famous for FPS games and for initially capturing PC FPS gamers, but the hardware is starting to look dated & a PC will always provide the best FPS experience. You will see X360 gamers switch back to PC again. The PS3 is a little different in that the variety of games and Sony exclusivity means you won’t see GT, Infamous, Flower, LittleBigPlanet and the like on PC. That is what makes the Sony platform distinguished over the X360 – which again, is basically a limited PC in terms of hardware.
When a console manufacturer designs new console architecture, they look at what is cost effective at the time for lounge gaming (i.e. TV resolutions). From a console’s day 1 launch, it is already unable to produce what a new PC can, so why do people buy consoles? See the top 3 bullet points.
Valuable lessons have been learned through the introduction of download gaming pipelines (e.g. Steam and the EA store as well as PSN and XBL). By forcing gamers to connect to a server to authenticate and download content, piracy can be reduced. Net result, less piracy on the future of PC gaming which again ensures it remains a viable platform.
PC gaming isn’t going anywhere.
The argument is moronic and insulting to anyone with any intelligence.
I must say that HHG has the right in a lot of what he says. What would it take for the industri to have a huge interest in PC games as it is for the consoles. Then you must have exclusive games, which always creates excitement and interest for gamers. We need that something to look forward to.
All game-related sites would write about that, as they do on consoles. Exciting new engines being developed, things that exceed what has been previously made etc etc. My pc cost 2700 dollars, but do I play as much on it as I do on consoles. No, I do not. I would have if everything was the opposite in the market of what is today. Of course I would.
It is in our nature that we are looking for new excitment all the time, and this is what the consoles gives us, well more, than the PC does in my opinion.
The whole issue is HHG statement about pc gaming is dead. It is of course not. Just see at the production of pc games. All multi-platform games are made also on PC. Why, because the PC market is the market that is evolving the industri, and will always be able to produce what the developers produce on consoles. Today, nearly every one has an computer, so of course it is market to produce games for PC, and consumers to buy, so therefore it’s not dead.
The statement HHG should have used is, that the interest is not as great for PC games as it is for console games. If we turn everything around, and said that all the exclusives came out on the pc, and not on the console, but some games would be ported to the consoles. Would then the marked bee as it is today. Of course not. Then HHG would have stated that, console gaming is dead We would constantly upgraded our computers, and the industri and market would have focus on the pc instead of the consoles.
Today’s excitement as a gamer in general, lies at consoles front, because of the progression in development, so my pc is more in use
as a working tool than a toy. So my conclution and personal opinion, is that gaming is more interesting on the console than on PC.
At the end is no big issue, becuase a true gamer, as myself, have this as a lifestyle. I get all the media I need for me to play games.
I then just choose which media to play on without having to bother.
He mentions that people flock to the XBOX because of Halo. LOL Halo is on the PC also and youy dont see people flock to9 the PC because HALO is on the PC. HHG is a fool who doesnt know what he is talking about.
@Hip Hop Gamer. Before you make stupid arguments like this do your homework and if you want to argue about PC gaming , then go out and buy a decent PC and do some PC gaming. A console Fanboy shouldnt argue PC gaming is dead if that person hasnt played PC gaming (Recent games) on a PC for long enough to understand why PC gaming is so good.
Another point is Console graphics wont touch PC gaming because theres no decent AntiAliasing and Antrostropic Filtering in the games. Take GT5 for instance. GT5 has absolutely no AA but still loooks good. My year and a half old PC can easily do GT5 with 8xAA enabled.
So please HHG crawl back under your blanket of consoles until you have a valid argument why PC gaming is dead.
Ohhh shit im agreeing with the HIPHOpGamer , PC gaming is like the Native American y’all diminishing but are so proud of your gaming “race” and culture that y’all cant accept it is dieing or that it is now a small shadow of its former self Oooowww
Dude Think about it what makes a ps3 game? a PC what makes a Xbox game? a PC. Is Pc gamer ever going to die? No Never Pc Will Never Die Cause Pc Gaming Makes The Console Games

GOOD VIDEO GUYS
HIPHOP WITH THE BELT CRACKS ME UP
Crysis was released in 2007 and no game so far can match or Has surpass it, on any platform .
PS3 ACHIEVED THAT IN FEBRUARY 2009
WE ALL KNOW THE NAME OF THAT GAME
Also we would love to hear from you HHG on N4G @ http://www.n4g.com/NewsPendingCom-470158.aspx?CT=1&Page=1&Page2=1#
WTF!!!!!!!!
I tend to agree, I heard enough before, rather play more Mass Effect 2 on PC then listen to the same shit.
WOW,
Hiphopgamer for the most part looked so FOOLISH in this video!!
AND GET KRATOS’S DICK OUT YOUR ASS!
What’s up guys
Great time yesterday. This is what real gaming is all about. Looking forward to having another round with you guys at the next event.
Jay
This was a really good video. Torrence is right about your debate skills. When debating you open yourself up a lot. I read your comment and it was very good. Pick your topic and stay with it.
Example: Even though with it’s strong presents PC gaming is taking back seat to the mass market appeal of the Console Market.
Flame On! LOL
lol did you guys drink before you taped this?
I really like this side of it also. Not like the faceless comments of anonymous ranting of the comment section.
i stop playing PC games since I bought midway gamecube to PS3, and i respect HHGS with his news, but the minute he talk shit about star craft 2 where its only click and point, that’s a bull, PC HAS TOOO MUCH AI CAUSE OF THE PC POWER and its hrd to control more than 100 units at once than controlling once per character….
HHGS JUST TURNED ME OFF and torrence? who is this guy, I gota respect him !!!!
HHG my respect for you just went back up. You stuck to your guns but at least your taking a more open minded view now.
torrence asked hiphop, “have you seen eve online?” look at hiphop’s reaction, all he had to say was no.lol HHG has no grasp of pc games and their longevity simply because he doesn’t play pc games. he just sounds so silly.
and torrence you’re so right about if you were a pc only gamer, you’ll have alot more money in your pockets. i know i would.
Why is this argument still running?
End it.
Then HHG would have stated that, console gaming is dead
We would constantly upgraded our computers, and the industri and market would have focus on the pc instead of the consoles.
This was great.
PS I also have a PS3 and Xbox 360.
well ps3 is shown as the superior platform running cg in realtime, but i wont say pc gaming is dying
and when i see a car game on pc that looks near grand turismo 5 on pc then i will agree that pc can run gt5 better than ps3
