great podcast and thanks for helping me out after the show! site loads MUCH faster now and makes commenting less of a chore.

  • ronaldobrasilero says:

  • mikemadden says:

  • ThAsTaRoFtHaShOw says:

I only got half a show WTF!?!?

  • pdqstyle says:

hey tor site look good, whats the beat you use for warzone?

  • I don’t understand why the show isn’t downloading for some. I clicked on the download link and was able to que the whole show. Also, if you use the player, it plays the whole show as well. Please report if you are successful or not at listening to the whole show.

  • mboojigga says:

Itunes is an alternative for anyone that would like to get it that way.

  • jmd749 says:

i get less than half the show. the site isn’t loading any faster tor, if anything, it’s slower now. is it because i’m in the uk? are only americans going to benefit from you changing the servers.

oh, and that “we’ll be back in 60minutes” sign, was a piss take.lol

  • LordVonPS3 says:

3h41m14s downloaded from iTunes, but I haven’t listened to it yet as I’ve been busy playing GT PSP online over adhocParty… ;-)

@ Torrence, I hope for your sake that the comment about the podcast content on GT5 Vs Forza 3 doesn’t turn out to be about the GT Academy time trial. It’s not the finished game, so why are so many people comparing a time trial / demo with a finished game?

Digital Foundry can put their collective feet in it sometimes (ref opening paragraphs about “it’s a demo”)… http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-gt5-time-trial-blog-entry
    … and they’ve already had their asses kicked… http://twitter.com/ChristerEricson/status/6511346199 and… http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-saboteur-aa-blog-entry

    On topic, you’ll take note…

I look forward to listening to this show…

    Ciao for now.

    • LordVonPS3 says:

Great stuff Torrence, it’s good to see the argument for common sense prevailing on GT5. I’ll have to give you a game of Forza 3 on the XBox 360… I’m not far into it, so you might even win! I haven’t really touched my 360 since completing MW2 on Veteran… The PS3 has taken up almost all of my time. Hustle Kings (pretty good), PixelJunk Shooter (pretty good), Lemmings (oh no!)… I have been messing about with these PSN titles a fair bit lately.

Another good show this week and for the record, I’m struggling to find decent Wii games even more than you. After trading in Resident Evil 4 (I personally cannot stand the cumbersome, clunky RE controls) and Zelda Twilight Princess (not a patch on Windwaker IMO), I’ve only got 4 left… Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart (not as good as SNES Mario Kart), New Wii Mario Bros (not as good as SNES Mario World) & Trauma Center 2nd opinion (my most played Wii game – in spite of all the horrible pop up dialogue). In my case – it’s lucky the Wii is b/c with GameCube and has VC, otherwise I’d trade the whole thing in. If the next Wii isn’t b/c with GC – or if it doesn’t migrate my VC purchases, I will not be “upgrading”. I am not a casual gamer.

You’re so right about things not being as they used to be! That goes for games and movies! There’s so much Internet coverage these days that there’s no surprises anymore – unless you ignore your own instinct to seek more information. The last big movie surprise for me was “The Matrix”, though to be honest I thankfully steered away from and didn’t know too much about Avatar 3D before going to see it, so I found that to be really enjoyable. As for video game surprises, hmm…

  • pdqstyle says:

i see your nose is too high to read my question torrence

    • Sorry but I was more concerned about the people not being able to listen to the show so I didn’t get back to you.

That is a beat I made myself. The original song was a Pete Rock beat off his Instromentals album. I wanted to do something original so I put a new beat together and rewrote the intro.

  • renog66 says:

sup torrence I’m kinda new well sort of but I love the warzone and you guys crack me up BUT! I learn a lot of things about the gaming industryby listening to the warzone . I also follow you on twitter. If you go to http://www.playstationhometoday.com/ ( PSHT ) we have a online magazine called HOMEstyle MAGAZINE and I’m the Editor-in-Chief and we get thousands of hits and I would love to get with you and hiphopgamer to do an interview about your sites and what you do. Even the big wigs of Sony looks at our magazine so it would be an honor to have you for issue 3 and have hiphopgamer for issue 4. You can also start an account on PSHT which is free and user creator friendly so you could up load your videos pod cast if you so wish it. The site was created by a brutha named Ra-Ausar and the founder of the magazine is NJRAMAL. We want to bring more people who haven’t heard of thebitbag or hiphopgamer to their attention. My ps3 ID is FullclipG66 please contact me if this is something you would like to do. There are a lot of bruthas and sistas that don’t even know who you guys are, and we want to change that. You can also visit http://homestylemagonline.com and check out issue 1 & 2 … thank you for you time and I apologize in advance if this was the wrong way to contact you. • Oh btw, I also downloaded the whole show from work with no problems. I can only assume it’s an internet issue or something as I haven’t witnessed the problem yet.

  • renog66 says:

Oh! one other thing… Ra-Ausar is creating a publication site so users can upload videos and maybe pod cast if you so choose to. There are so many people on PSHT community that haven’t even heard of Torrence Davis or hiphop and we would love to have the both of you and the rest of your staff on board.

You guys need to subscribe on itunes. Its the easiest shit ever. It auto downloads for you and you can listen to it on the go via ipod.

Anyways I thought this was a pretty good show. Big props to drakol for giving us some great info of ff13.

  • Drakol says:

Klein problem! (No problem for those who don’t speak German).

I was going to get FF13 this past weekend, but the Christmas market opened up around here and I had to get some things for friends and family. But come this weekend, my paycheck will be in and I will have time to head on down to the local game store for a copy of FF13 (if they’re still in stock).

Also, I will see if they have any of Japanese games that we haven’t heard about yet.

  • Ashby JC says:

    LMAO

The whole arcade convo was my favorite part of the show. I am 37 so I saw the rise and fall of the arcades!!

THE LOL moment of the convo is when dude says Arcades werent heaven and he said the FOOD was bad….

    ….Torrence says “FOOD????”

    I LAUGHED OUT LOUD!!!!!!

There wasnt any food at my arcades growing up LMAO!!!

  • snskid says:

Mortal Kombat stopped being good after MKII. I like Virtua Fighter, but it does move kind of weird to me. Tekken is my favorite. Street Fighter is a really simple fighter and I mainly get each new SF because I want my Capcom fighting collection to be complete.

Final Fantasy for life. I have been a long time FF fan and if I had to choose FF over God of War 3 I would. Dante’s Inferno interests me more than God of War now. Honestly God of War 3 is just a prettier God of War.

The games I’m really excited for in 2010 are Castlevania, Final Fantasy 13, Bayonetta, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Dead Nation, No More Heroes 2, Heavy Rain, Star Ocean International and Lost Planet 2.

Aside from that I’ll be buying anime, movies and another HDTV.

  • Sephiroth7924 says:

i have never hated on anyone on the bitbag. fat boy

    -ff13
Personally I think that ff13 will “fail” in the us market. Our market is  fps heavy and I do t think ff13 will put up the numbers it should if it is the RPG it’s made out to be.

    -gt vs f3
It’s hard to compare a game that has ren in dev for 5 yours to a game that has been in dev for like 2 and  has already been released. I’m sure GT will be prettier than F3 but that’s not what’s important. The gameplay is and to be honest I hate GT. I always found it boring or frustrating.  Never felt that way with Collin mcrea games on the pc .

    -final fight
Been there done that 7000000 times
Do we really need another remake of a retro game with HD graphics. Unless the game gets new levels why do we need this.it’s a button mashing game with bad sound effects.

    -arcade
I have a love/hate relationship with arcades. I love going to arcades for the games of course but  the games are too expensive now a days.should it cost me $2 to sit on a fake motorcycle and go around a track?in the past my # 1 objective was to make it into te top 3 on every game I played and I feel that’s a big thing missing from
Gaming. Yea u have. Leaderboards it some games but  it was always the highscore that got me. Not the k/d or wins it was  seeing my name and score blinking.here in NY the arcades alwys had problems with fighting. A bunch of little dicks thinking they’re hardcore because there with 5 of their boys would always start trouble.the only arcades I knownof in NY that are decent are sports time USA, new roc city in newrochell and the arcade in time square. I miss the arcade but I think I miss the arcade games. There were certain games that were made just for arcades and that’s what I miss. Perfect example is pinball machines. I would stay on those tickers until I lost all my money.

-I like splinter cell alot even more than MSG so any type of coop is cool

    - red faction 3 was incredible. I wish it was longer. I wish they released  dlc that was titled. Fuck shit up and all there was to do was destoy Giant buildings. I’ve said it a bunch of times and I will say it again this year my top 2 games were borderlands and redfaction. Because they were perfect

  • commander says:

It’s hard to compare a game that has ren in dev for 5 yours to a game that has been in dev for like 2 and has already been released

This statement makes no sense. If we go by your logic we cant compare too human to any action adventure game.

    • SixAmpFuze says:

When u compare too human to any game the first thing everyone says is the 10 yr dev BS. Thats why 1.I dont like to compare games. 2 Games that that are being released Months after the other game has way more time to fix and tweak and look at the other game.

Too human is the game. Anyone who actually played this game would understand how great this game is. I put 40+ hours into this game. I want TH2

  • original seed says:

Just finished listening to the show. I enjoyed everything this week. I used to go arcades but was never really good at them. I would always get beat at SF2, KI and MK. Still played when there wasnt too many people around. I didnt want to embarrass myself.

Weapon X was right. Thats the first place i heard, I got Next.
