Bu-bu-bu-but I thought the Xbox 360 version was holding the game back?

    Smh @ fanboys.

  • ExcelBeyond says:

Sounds like someone got a bit carried away with hyperbole. Lets be honest, I think we can all agree that there are already several games on both systems that look better than this:

Before anyone talks smack about me being a fanboy, they’d first have to know me. I own a 360 and PS3, with an equal amount of RPGs and other genres for both systems. If there was a 360 version of FF13, then I would’ve tried that as well, but that wasn’t the case.

I refuse to compare this to God of War 3 or Killzone 2, because GoW3 hasn’t even been released and even if it had, I wouldn’t compare it to FF13 because that’s an entirely different genre focused on a different style of gameplay and functions. As for Killzone 2, same thing. Different style and all that. But I will say this; Mass Effect 2 will have a BIG competition in 2010.

Thanks for the report Drakol, FFXIII looks to be the first multiplatform title to really push the hell out of both systems. I hope that Square tweaks for the 360 as well, taking advantage of it’s strengths the same way it’s doing for the PS3.

I really hope that FFXIII breaks the RPG curse that seems to be prevalent this generation. I talk about the utter lack of solid JRPG sales on either system. While I really enjoyed Tales of Vesperia and Infinite Undiscovery, neither sold very well. Hell, even the fantastic Demons Souls and Folklore didn’t do well on the PS3, both awesome games. I hope owners of the HD twins picks this up in droves, it really looks to be something special.

    • Ramses says:

Demon’s Souls did do well considering the fact that it didnt have the Big name attach to it or even the same publicity that other games had.

and i dont think the tides are going to change for Jrpg’s right now Americans want to shoot stuff. FPS is what Rpg’S were back in the PLaystation vs N64 era.

  • Coming from Drakol, I already know it’s going to own. Thanks for the update and tease from Drakol.
