Capcom is a legendary company in this industry as well as Sega but Capcom obviously has had a more consistent stream of quality games especially since sega lost it’s mojo with Sonic and other franchises. Sega has been searching to achieve some great momentum similiar to the dreamcast days with games like power stone, crazy taxi, sonic, shenmue and more.
For years Sega hasn’t been at it’s best but now with the upcoming launches with titles such as Alien vs Predator, Alpha Protocal, Renosance Of Fate, and The Highly Anticipated Bayonetta, Sega is back and they are ready to compete.
Devil May Cry is a franchise that’s in a league of it’s own, Capcom put so much passion into Dante and the New hero Nero and it shows but the question is can that do it again why? because Sega has took a little bit of Devil May Cry and multiplied it by 20 and right now Nero isn’t looking so good.

Bayonetta’s gameplay is superior to DMC to me. But again Bayonetta’s creator made DMC (on the PS2) for Capcom, so you would expect there to be evolution in his next action game.
I always felt like DMC should evolve it’s writing. The setup is very unique, 2 sons of Sparda blah blah blah, but they settle for a mediocre story EVERY TIME. Bayonetta doesn’t seem like it’s going to be any better story wise, but I’ll buy it anyway.
I played DMC4 and enjoyed it, but I played Bayonetta at E3 and it is on another level when it comes to fun and action. Hideki Kamiya is the guy who made DMC1 great, and he is making another great franchise now.
If anyone should be scared in Japan it should be Square Enix. Besides FFXIII and Versus XIII, I’m not interested in any of their games. Capcom, Sega, and SCEJ all have MUCHHH better lineups and I’m not even including Nintendo.
I think they are taking their time with the next DMC because they need to reinvent the fighting engine in the game, and give us a better story than DMC4

They put about as much passion into Nero as a part time Janitor would put into cleaning poop stains off of a toilet. Give me a freakin break. Nero never looked good. He was always overshadowed by Dante and now Nero will be overshadowed by Bayonetta.
