Why would Home be in trouble? The fact that Sony stated it is in beta indefinitely and that it isn’t even advertised with the PS3 on store shelves. Avatars are not going to affect Home JUST LIKE HOME hasn’t affected the 360 in anyway. Your worried or bringing up a wasted concern of a feature consumers most likely do not know about until after they opened up the game console. Whatever MS decideds to do with Avatars is not going to affect a dual owner or a PS3 only owner one bit.
Avatars and Home is not any gamers deciding factor on which console to get. Again, it sure as hell isn’t going to get someone to go to another console because of an update so no Home doesn’t need to worry about Avatars when it needs to fix its own issues to begin with lol.
I’m sure your opinion can be shared by a few others out there, but there are a shit load of people who enjoy HOME and the Avatars and the fun for them it brings. These two virtual spaces are great ideas but in an opinion, short on execution. Once these two companies get closer to there end product will it be viable. Lastly the first company to get the characters into a game will make the biggest news.
LOL you did your Battlefield interview, hyping it up then you show a Modern Warfare 2 commercial after…
Hey HHG I saw you playing Borderlands online, Im getting the game soon could you review it for next week?
good show
I want to talk about something that I was trying to explain on the Warzone, but lost my train of thought.
When it comes to Microsoft competing with Sony and Home, I like the approach they are taking with things like “Halo Waypoint”. The reason for this is that I watched a interview with a head at Bungie saying that with Waypoint in the future you will get all Halo news sent right there, if you have Waypoint they may use it as a system to get beta codes for upcoming Halo games, video interviews with people from the Halo team, they are using it to help promotoe Halo: Legends with video clips of it, and they are going to add community features like cool Halo videos/pics/players/etc.
The oppurtunity is there to expand on it as well and almost turn it into a facebook like application for only people who play Halo.
I feel that if Microsoft strikes up deals with Call of Duty, Gears of War, Left 4 Dead, Madden, etc then this is pretty good competition to Home spaces.
My logic is that in Home you go to these rooms and while they are nicely decorated there isnt much to do besides talk to people in the room, or play a game. With this “Waypoint” type system you give people applications to use them like getting up to date news, videos, beta access, etc.
Home needs to make sure that developers continue to update their space with content as time goes on.
I really like Waypoint more so than Home because right now on there is a Frank O’Connor video, a making of video for Halo: Legends, artwork from the Halo games, etc and its continuing to get update weekly. If I go into a Home space for Uncharted it doesnt have content related to the “actual” game or developer.
