Yesterday when the news broke out about the PS3 beta, I got a lot of tweets, emails and spam asking why there was no 360 beta. My quick answer was, “Xbox Live is rock solid”. Many took that as a jab at the PS3 version of the game. It wasn’t meant to be. After coming to a point of thought where it may have been the way I responded yesterday that started all of this, I understand why people would get upset. What I should have said is this, “The 360 version of BFBC2 is rock solid on Xbox Live.”
When we were at the EA event and brought up how fast the multiplayer was, I quickly assumed we were playing over a local area network. Gordon smashed those dreams pretty quickly and informed us that we were actually playing on Xbox Live against EA and DICE employees. So naturally when people asked, “Why no Xbox Live beta?”, my quick response was, “Xbox Live is rock solid”. While it’s great to get into a beta, you should understand that it happens for reasons other than publisher braggadocio. Beta tests are meant to test code and stress servers. Some betas are closed like MW2. Others are open for short periods of time. I sent Gordon a few questions to add even more to this post for those who are wondering.
Tordavis: Why no 360 beta?
Gordon: Public betas are optional, not required. There will only be a demo on Xbox 360.
Tordavis: Was the PS3 beta an exclusive deal made by Sony?
Gordon: No, it was just down to logistics & timing.
Tordavis: Why does the PC need a beta?
Gordon: This is the first PC title on Frostbite & a beta is essential. Beta is a common term used for these events, but we are actually in Alpha stage of development, not Beta.
Thank you very much Torrence. I already figured this was why the beta was PS3, but some people get hurt feelings anytime you mention the PS3 in a negative light, even if it is not a negative light. *rolls eyes*

I say it again, did you have this same mindset back when COD4 had a beta on 360, what XBL was not rock solid enough and IW had to do it there? LOL?.
Notice he says “Timing” aka because modern warfare 2 is going to be owning the 360’s attention, you think is productive to add a BETA to a console that is about to have 1.5+million gamers( check the pre-order numbers) hooked on MW2 24/7 for the rest of the year?, of course not.
EA/DICE did the right thing by going PS3 only, Tor needs to stop making this seem like a bad thing, just because ps3 is getting it, That’s what bothers me the most about this shit Tor whole negative reaction about it, couldn’t you have said “oh yeah nice this is great for PS3 gamers”? and move on?, why trash the decision?, its clear you wanted this BETA 360 but sorry.
BETAs are optional like he told ya and they choose not to go with 360 because its stupid to do that on 360, IT IS BAD TIMING TO DO THAT RIGHT NOW ON 360( MW2) .

@lazyboy – How can I be shocked? I’ve known that PS3 was getting a beta for almost a month. I never even asked him if the 360 was getting a beta. I don’t care. I have a PS3 and I’ll be in the beta.

I really don’t understand you and lazy’s perspective on this when it’s all clear in this article. Yesterday I should have said, “BFBC2 on Xbox Live is rock solid” instead of, “Xbox Live is rock solid”. I only know this because I played for about 40min on Xbox Live. I know this from the experience I had. If it was PSN I would have said, “PSN is rock solid” and not any of you guys would have said anything. Am I right?
