Review: Axel & Pixel
![]()
Story:
Knowing that Axel & Pixel is an XBLA title I wasn’t expecting a huge epic story, but what I did get was rather nice. Also being a game with no dialogue what so ever (Axel speaks gibberish), the story is up for interpretation, but it’s not hard hard to figure out. Axel who is a painter and his dog Pixel are relaxing together on a calm mid-winter’s day, when all of a sudden a rat comes out and plays strange music on a gramophone. Axel and Pixel fall asleep into a surreal dream world and that’s where your adventure begins. The rat who played the strange music appears to hold the key to your escape so you follow him through out the story chasing him through the four season’s of nature. While the story makes little to no sense that’s the beauty of it, it’s abstract. Read the rest of this entry »
Gamerchat: Sub-HD Or Not Sub-HD?
Lord Von PS3 and I went back and forth on this Sub-HD thing. I’ve come to the conclusion that since the games NEVER run in their non-standard resolutions, why bother pointing out that they are sub-HD or non-standard? If it’s on my screen and the resolution says 720p or 1080p, it’s in HD. I’ll leave it at that. Enjoy the read, Lord Von don’t play! Read the rest of this entry »
CES Goes Back To Its Roots And Offers 13,000 Square Feet Of Gaming

I’ve been attending the CES since the early 90’s. It used to be the place to go to get all of your video game info and it occurred twice a year; once in the Summer and once in the Winter. The Summer Chicago show was the last one to showcase video games before the switch to E3. We didn’t even know what E3 was until publishers were saying, “No Chicago CES because of the move to E3.” In the years after, CES went from literally no games to slowly adding games back to the roster. I’m happy to report that this January, 13,000 square feet of show floor will be dedicated to video games. Microsoft and Sony will both have a presence and so will many other publishers. It’s great to have two gaming shows to look forward to again. Full press release after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
Netflix goes the PS3 route, too!?
It’s now official, everyone is posting this as I do the same. Here is a straight to the point post from Netflix’s own Official Blog.
Netflix coming to PS3
Greg Peters, VP of product development at Netflix, here. We’ve got good news for PS3 owners! Soon you will be able to instantly watch movies and TV episodes on your TV via your PS3. Today we announced that the PS3 is about to join the ever growing list of Netflix ready devices that allow streaming of movies and TV episodes whenever you want, as much as you want, all included in your unlimited Netflix subscription. The PS3 is a terrific Blu-ray and gaming platform that will get even better in November when we start streaming thousands of movies and TV episodes!
We all knew it was coming but we just didn’t know how long Xbox was going to be able to hold on to it’s exclusive rights. My question is how good would the service compare to the 360’s great party and chat features that in a few words make the service worth it. I would love to have another device with the Netflix service since I already stream HD through my Xbox and on my Laptop when on the road. One thing I know the only way I am going to use Netflix on my PS3 is “if†and only “if†the PS3 get’s 4 or more Party Chat and the ability to stream in HD over it’s “rank†802.11b/g wireless built in, give me wireless A or N.
Bottom line this is a good thing for Netflix more than anyone else, since all I heard before this announcement, was how much SONY boys didn’t want or care about Netflix so just like every other things SONY didn’t want, it switches to we have that to.
If you want to reserve your free PS3 instant streaming Netflix disk click here. This is only if you have a Netflix account. Won’t be of any use to non Netflix subscribers.

WET is a video game created by Artificial Mind and Movement, and published by Bethesda Softworks. In WET, you play as Rubi Malone. Rubi is a female gun for hire. She is acrobatic and she not only uses pistols, but she can dual whiled shotguns and sub machine guns and crossbows. Finally to rid Rubi of any enemies close by, she can use her katana to slice through any lackey that gets in her way. Now Rubi’s story in WET starts off on a mission to steal and deliver a human heart to Trevor Ackers. And after this first mission you will see what drives Rubi down the long road to revenge. Electronic Arts Makes A 180 Degree Turn Around

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Naughty Or Nice EA event in NY. I knew what was in store for me but I didn’t realize that what I was going to see would more than live up to my expectations. I’ve been a fan of Electronic Arts since the Mail Order Monster days. They’ve been up and down over the years in my books. After seeing their new offerings I can honestly say that EA is living up to their name once again. Read the rest of this entry »
