Uhh Man here we go. Purchasing consoles on launch majority of the time is stupid as you said most consoles have terribles launches. The only system to come out with a bang was the Dreamcast. You can say buying the ps3 as 600 was a ripoff but if you were into hd video and top of the line audio like me then maybe you would see my reasoning for buying it. One thing to point out was the fact Sony was losing money manufacturing the ps3 up until this year so dont come with that talk about ps3 being not worth the value. The 360 to date has never been worth it value ever since launch. The only reason I got one in addition to having my ps3 is that most of friends have one. My brother plays the console more than me. Im the type of person that does not wait for deals or even wait in line for hours on Black Friday. I work to pay my bills and buy games.

They were actually talking about the race cars such as Nascar can Rally cars. "full" damage will NOT be in the manufactured cars. There have been plenty of videos out that show this already.
It has also been confirmed that street cars will not have "full" damage according to this quote….

wasnt talking about cars falling apart, but that if u crash into people the cars wont run properly.
All cars in a selected group. Now since the game has been announced to be launched in March of 2010, maybe he will add mechanical damage to every car, BUT realistically i don't see it happening. Adding more poly's onto 950+ cars, and adjusting the physics for each car, then polishing it all up to look proper…i just don't see that there is enough time from now till March to do it.
But i could be wrong, i'm not a developer for PD.
There's nothing to add…. Every car will feature damage in GT5. I wrote this back before about cars having premium damage and standard damage. The nascar and rally cars will have premium damage which includes the dramatic front/back bumpers falling off, doors and hoods falling off and etc. All the other cars will feature standard damage which includes paint scratching and minor deformations of the exterior. Also the premium damage cars will feature interior damage as well while this detail will not effect the standard suite leaving the minor damage to the exterior…
It was also stated that there will be minor enhancements to the damage system before it's actual launch date as what was shown at TGS was not their final damage/physics system just what they have now.

ha ha….not a bad show/rant…honestly, I never listed to Games On Smash until you went on it…but I've listened to a couple shows and those guys are crazy…very entertaining and funny and yes…they ARE Pro Sony…but like Blade said, doesn't everybody prefer something? As for the new format to the Warzone, I'm interested to see where it goes. The 4 hour format was good for listening at work, but it sucked balls to listen to it live…especially being on the eastcoast…staying up to 4AM is just rediculous…lol. Halo…well, everybody has their opinions about the game…I won't get the game because I don't like Halo…and if I did, I don't think it's a good deal especially if you purchased all the map packs…I mean it's using the same Halo 3 engine and you get a new mode and 3 maps…in conjunction with the $60 disc Microsoft should've allowed the option to download the new mode and maps at a reduced price for existing Halo owners…anyways, everybody has their own opinions and you can't tell somebody to do what you want them to with their money…

Almost exactly what i whould have suggested Microsoft do as well. It was well known that bungie DIDN'T want to price the game at $60 but a lower price point. I agree playing a 5.5 hour campaign and for non-matchmaking firefight mode just seems like it really could have been DLC for Halo 3. Look at GTA their DLC offers just as much if not more and it's $20 DLC. Shit i can even say look at Fallout 3 DLC. I think not giving us the option for matchmaking in firefight was imo bad. I mean if it's 3am on saturday and im back from hanging out with some friends and none of them that ARE online don't have ODST im shit out of luck… That's just not cool. People are able to form their own opinions and buy what they want but it's also with that same freedom to speak and say what they want as well. As long as both are a liberty we can all excersise at will we should.

It seems as if your kid is going to be great like my kid (my son is 10). I paid $120 day 1, I knew he'd play with his boys on Firefight all day, when I wanted to finish that mission first on Heroic Difficulty. He also beat the game on Normal & we'll co-op Legendary also, beat Legendary by ourselves as we always do with Halo.Forget what the haters say, sippin all that Hater-aid (red of course), that Mission Was All That! Very different experience that shouldn't be missed. I'm running it back on Legendary, then Normal to get everything, then play Firefight. ODST IS THE ****!

i have been checking in on your show for awhile now. you really have a good show. Tor, you seemed to be one way on your show and that YOUR choice. if you were to do a poll for your fans to vote on which way TOR leans to mostly. this would answer what games on smash was talking about one way or the other and to both of your fans. alot of times people do not really see the man in the mirror. people sometimes think that they are fair and balance when they are not.. what gamesonsmash said does ring a bell to me but maybe not to others.
Pshaw Tor: You don't have to Justify ODST or any other game in terms of length. What I tell everyone for games like Heavenly Sword, ODST, or any game with a rumored "short" campaign is to turn the difficulty up to the hardest you can the first time around; not only does that automatically lengthen the game, but you get better skills while you play.
Besides, once I make up my mind about a game, I stay away from articles dealing with the game; as most writers are usually biased and insert their bias subliminally, unbeknown even to themselves. If I play a demo and like the game, I need no review and stop looking for one as well. The bias permeated so much gaming journalism that I no longer consider many sites to be legit due to their illogical and asynchronous methods on judging a game. If a reviewer cannot consistently judge a game by a universal standards and possibly genre standards that may need to be clarified, I permanently stop reading their reviews unless I see an improvement in their writing overall.
As far as graphics, I'll say this: graphics should count in terms of buying a game IF the game's graphics were hyped by the developers, because that was a said feature; just like if they said the game was going to have multiplayer, but then it doesn't. Yeah, that would tick some people off that were looking forward to that feature. Outside of that, what strikes me as funny is when a gamer claims to be a retro gamer, yet whines about every little tick and bump he or she sees. If graphics make the game for that person, what are they doing with a retro game at all?
Oh, yeah; saying that HipHopGamer's power hour wouldn't change but it would get shorter made me laugh; seeing that if it got shorter, it probably wouldn't be an hour… I got the driest sense of humor ever.

first off, i'm really looking forward to the new structure planned for the warzone this coming friday, it better be worth skipping the last one for.

secondly, the ninja gaiden comparison you did was a bit shady imo, due to the fact that off-screen footage always adds extra layers of saturation, therefore resulting in a much higher res image, especially lighting and texture wise. comparing any multiplatform 360 game and ps3 game in this way, would always make them both look the same. using direct-feeds is the most reliable method of comparing the 2 versions of anything.

Stop throwing your opinions out like facts, it's distastful and that comment above only fuels fanboys. Holes in your theory include:
1) The PS3 Slim sold mostly to existing PS3 owners. Where/When/What can you provide to support that statement? Sure gamestop had trade in deals going but that had no effect on suppliers getting rid of the "Fat" PS3 that was in stock which was flying off the shelves to make room for the Slim on the DAY of the announcement.
2) there will be little to no change in game sales. Well supprise thats been the case for some time now. With the execption to a few titles, competition between multiplatform game sales have been basically a dead draw. Look at the latest games (Madden 10, WET, NFS: Shift, Guitar Hero 5 and Batman) all sales are exceptionally close with the 360 edging out with WET, Guitar Hero 5 and Madden and the PS3 edging out with Batman and Shift. All leads very small so where is this big acception that there was ever a BIG change in game sales?
3) You have this hatred for bundles or pack-ins or whatever but you do know that the mighty Halo 3 and ODST offered bundles right? So stop discrediting the sales games like Uncharted and others get with their bundles. You say U2 will fall far below expectations and Ratchet won't sell at all. First what are the so call expectations for U2? Ratchet wont sell at all, how far below expectations you expect it to fall? You were wrong about the slim not making a big deal and you haven't owned up to it i'll await to see how off your predictions are on the above and retort then as well.
BTW Sony sold 1+million PS3's in 3 weeks with just the slim and no new major Sony game bundled. What do expect of those numbers when the holiday runs around with games like MW2, U2, and FFXII (Japan). Being modest as to how even with ODST and their price drop and Slims still outselling it how can you claim Microsoft will own the holidays…

NPD has it's flaws as well they don't even include onlines sales/transaction and have just started the conversation about including that data… Shit NPD just started including sales from places like Walmart and Sams Club so lets not jump on the NPD is the most accurate band wagon just yet. As for otherZinc and LeeJohnson's discussion, they both make valid points. The big issue is, why is it okay to call people "fools" for liking a game you don't? Why is it okay to downplay the success of a game because its not coming to the system of your choice. I hate halo, and even I respect that ODST must be fun for its fans because it is selling and they are playing it in huge numbers. If everyone would just play what they wanted and not worry about what others are playing the gaming world would be a lot better. If people would just look at the facts now and stop trying to spin them in their favor, then everyone would truly be more knowledgeable. Think of it this way. I like games, fuck systems. Just play games people.
Tor stated that 360 owners might need rehab because they buy so much bleep or something to that effect. Blade says 360 owners are fools for paying full price for ODST. Sounds almost like two sounds of the same coin. In fact, making a reference to rehab may actually be more offensive than simply calling someone a fool.
The whole point is that it's all opinionated what worth is to each individual. A PS3 to one person being $600 at launch was justifiable, while to another it wasn't. Just like a 360. You say that you don't think the 360 is worth its money, however to someone else, its a great deal….There is no reason to try and point fingers at someone who paid $60 for ODST and say you have no value of money for the same reasons stated above. If someone is an early adapter and or doesn't want to wait for the price to come down, then who is anyone to say what is right or wrong with purchasing it? Everyone has their own wants and needs and a price to which they are willing to pay for their wants and needs….
