for him to seriously sit there and say that red faction has the best graphics is just fucking ridiculous, and makes him lose a lot of credibility with me. i don't know if he's just saying it to be controversial, but it makes no sense at all. and graphical fidelity is not an opinion thing, it's factual, since it can be measured.

I wish i bought Ninja Gaiden Sigma instead of just renting it. It a great game and i feel like beating the game again. I also rented Ninja Gaiden 2 for my 360 and i was so close to beating it, but the game would freeze at a certain part so i never got to finish it
I definitely going to be buying Sigma 1 & 2 now.
From what i played of the Ninja Gaiden games, the first one to me is definitely better. Even though the Ninja Gaiden series is not that heavy on story, the first game had a way better story then the second game. the story in the second game felt like it was tact on just for the fuck of it . it felt like something was missing and it didn't have the same in-pack on me that the first game had.
second Ninja Gaiden has better combat then the first….well of course it would… it built onto the original lol
but…. the modes you unlock in NG2 after hard were absolutely retard hard lol and im not happy that sigma 2 wil tone down the blood
I still have Never Winter Nights. I don't think I've ever beaten it though. haha
I need to finish those last 5 missions in Mission mode for Sigma 1. You can get Sigma 1 for under $20. I am so proud that I beat the game on hard. Sigma 2's bosses scare me and I don't know if I would even attempt to beat that game on hard.
I already have Sigma 2 pre-ordered and paid for. All I have to do is pick it up from Gameslut. Hopefully I get my pre-order exclusive. Gameslut love to screw me over it seems with pre-orders.
I pre-ordered the game so I could pick it up on launch day and not have to wait for it to be delivered.
If anyone reading this has a Japan PSN account you can download the Sigma 2 demo this Thursday. I'm still debating whether or not I should because I want to play it, but I don't want to spoil anything for myself.

Graphic fidelity is a technical benchmark. It has nothing to do with how someone views the graphics of a game. If you can't see the beauty of Red Faction, then that's your personal opinion, not mine. If you'd like to see another game get best graphics, post your vote in the comments section or something. All GOTY's are derived from personal opinions, not some global agreement between all gamers.

lol. how in the world can you say that graphical fidelity has nothing to do with how someone views the graphics of a game? that makes no sense at ALL. if you say that the art style or visual aesthetic of red faction is better than uncharted2's, then by all means you're entitled to your opinion, but when it comes to the graphics that's another ball game.
aside from the destructibility gimmick used in red faction, i bet you cannot point out one single thing that red faction does graphically better than uncharted 2. animation, texture resolution, post process effects, lighting, polygon counts, use of pixel, vertex and geometry shaders, particle effects, specular highlights, etc etc etc.

Oh here we go. Graphic fidelity like resolution, sharpness, texture resolution, polygon count and all that other shit you mentioned has NOTHING to do with a game getting BGOTY. It's all about how good it looks to the one casting the vote. Technical aspects of graphics have nothing to do with a game winning BGOTY IMHO. I like the look and the engine of Red Faction more than any other game this year. Why do I have to spell this out JMD? Stop drinking the koolaid, you are smarter than this. If someone wants to pick Katamari for best graphics or GOTY they have every right to! It's all personal preference and that's something that EVERYONE FORGETS when it comes to GOTY votes.

1 first of all, the character animation system in uncharted 2 is at least a generation gap beyond that of RF.
2 texture resolution and shading in uncharted 2 is way higher than RF
3 post processing effects such as motion blur, depth of field, wind effects, etc etc are also better than that of RF.
4 the lighting and shadowing in U2 is better than RF.
5 U2's characters and environments comprise of way more polygons that RF.
now i have submitted the above 5 graphical things that U2 does better than RF from the top of my head, i'd love to see you post a list of 5 things RF does better than U2.
physics was even added to the sound so that things occlude properly in U2, a feature most definitely absent in RF.

THAT's the response I was waiting for. Voting for a graphics GOTY is no different than voting for best story. It's PERSONAL PREFERENCE! If you really wanted to get technical, nothing can touch the Geomod engine anyways, but that's not what or why I picked Red Faction for best graphics. It's just a beautiful game to me and the destructibility plays a major part of that. It totally changed the game from linear to dynamic. We can argue tech all day. Your point is that if one game has a higher resolution or polygon count it's better graphically. And that's still wrong. Just because the developer choses a lower polygon count in their game versus what the next developer is doing, doesn't mean their game is lower on the graphics power scale. That's what has all these RIGZ fucked up.
I played the multiplayer version of U2 and wasn't impressed. It was still Uncharted to me. I want to see the final game. And while the final game is going to be beautiful, Red Faction STILL gets my vote because it actually takes graphics to a whole nother(oh shit I just realized we've all been saying 'nother' this whole time and it's not a word) level. Red Faction is beautiful technically and dynamically. It's explosions aren't scripted and are different ever single time. The lighting on the moon was excellent and the physics were mind blowing.
If you want to pick your GOTY because it has more polygons, high res textures, better looking animation(still very subjective), blur, dof, wind(all in Red Faction) and lighting, that is YOUR choice and is still not technically better, but technically different and used in a way to create the art style.
By you saying I am wrong, you are also saying I am wrong about my taste in women, cars, clothes and music. Actually, I'll take it even further and take women out of the mix. Everything else is man made…like graphics. If I voted a BMW as best vehicle and you disagreed because you could list another car as having better features would I be wrong? What about clothes? What if we don't see fashion the same way? I look at a games graphics as it's own fashion statement. Isn't U2 more of what we saw last year? Name one game that remotely looks like Red Faction? Some music is super technical and requires computers or even a huge orchestra, but that doesn't make it better than what someone creates with just one instrument. It's ALL PERSONAL PREFERENCE and that's what the Editors Choice Award is about. It's the Editors Choice of what they deemed the best of games of the year. If we just voted on technical merits for everything, no one would ever win for creativity.

Red Faction was probably the AAA titles that was most underrated and under played this year. I loved RF. single player. Multiplayer is good but i just loved the single player and would of loved if there was a coop campaign mode

to be honest, i've been personally considering whether Muramasa: The Demon Blade has the best graphics this year. no, i'm not joking or being sarcastic. art design, creativity and execution have just as much to do with great graphics as technical achievements, and Muramasa, from what i've seen this year, has BY FAR the most creative and visually appealing graphics. the other two games for me are Killzone 2 and (from what i've seen) Uncharted 2, but neither of those are breaking any new ground. Killzone 2, while a technical masterpiece, has a bland art style, and Uncharted 2 is basically Uncharted 1.5 as far as graphic style goes, they just upped the execution to the point where it's one of the best technical achievements ever imo.
but when you talk about creativity and art design, then how PERFECTLY they executed it….man…..it's hard for me not to give it to Muramasa. that game's graphics just blow me away. i don't even care when i'm not fighting, because i just fall into a trance from the backgrounds. and in addition to all that, i haven't seen any glitches or technical hiccups that plague other games.
Oooh you shouldn't say that JTHAMIND. Someone might come in here and tell you that you are wrong and there are 10 things KZ2 does better than Muramasa.

Just because one persons opinion doesn't coincide with your own doesn't make it invalid or wrong. It is what it is, a personal opinion. If 5 other reviewers say a certain game is goty and another reviewer chooses differently does it make his choice wrong? There are millions of gamers around the world and not all of them are going to feel the same way on the subject. I'm actually going to go out and pick up RFG sometime this week and give it a try.
Red Faction Guerilla is a gangsta game. The game is fun and the MP is off the hook! I'd recommend it.
