The only thing you laid out on the show is misinformation. Everything between 480p and 720p is ENHANCED DEFINITION. The reason that you don’t see this branding on tv’s that fall into that range is BECAUSE THERE AREN’T ANY. Even if I use my computer to display 1300*719p, this still isn’t HD as defined by the NTSC which is the standard that we are going by here. If there was a tv that existed that out put at 600p vertical lines, it would be EDTV. You have to remember that “high definition” is a made up, arbitrary term used by companies’ marketing department to define a certain products. What I mean by arbitrary is that they could’ve just as well picked 647 lines of resolution and called that HD, but they chose not to.

High definition is anything equal to or above 720 vertical fucking lines of resolution. End of Story. Just because there isn’t a name for anything from 481p-719p does not automatically make it HD. The reason there isn’t a name for TV’s that support this resolution is because there aren’t any TV’s made that support these resolutions. YOU GUYS ARE UTTER RETARDS

I already told you, anything above 525 lines of resolution is High Definition. ED only covers 480p. That’s it! Don’t confuse TV standards with resolutions. If SD is 480i, ED is 480p and HD is 720p/1080i/1080p, then what is the stuff in between that’s higher than 525? If you can answer that question correctly, you’ve just become smarter. Use common sense and remember that you NEED an HDTV to display a resolution higher than ED.

I laid it all out on the show. The stuff on the back tells the consumer what TV resolutions the game supports, not what resolution the game is made in. Every game has to fit those resolutions. So if they are different than the resolutions provided by the tv, then there’s an upscale. Any 720p game has to upscale to run in 1080p. Any 640p game has to upscale to run in 720p or 1080p. Sub-HD is not a term used by the NTSC. Once again, since there is no name for those resolutions between ED and HD, then they must be HD right?

Mboo did you understand what I wrote. I did my research which is why I want to see someone post a link that proves me wrong. If soemone can find a link from a credible site that says resolutions under 720p are considered hd then I will admit I was wrong. In closing if cnet says 720p is where hd begins then thats what I am sticking to.

Sounds fair to me.

PS Torrence said he is here to educate so I want him to show me why I am wrong. In order to learn you need to be wrong. Like I said If I am wrong I will admit, learn the information presented, and move on to the next topic.
