Tor it seems like your son just likes the new school sound more then the lyrics. It’s clear because Lil Wayne doesn’t really have dope lyrics he’s more style than substance.
Try blending him on Lupe Fiasco (Food & Liquor, The Cool), Mos Def (Black on Both Sides), Talib (Beautiful Struggle, Quality), Roots (Game Theory, Tipping Point) albumn like those where he can hear solid production and appreciate the lyrics. Once he said he didn’t like Rakim i was like damn this gonna be a process. You gotta ease him in giving him crack like Rakim and Kane where he’s use to Wayne sounds like nite and day. Also try my boy Elzhi (The Preface) or some Slum Village… I’m not sure if you heard The Preface but it was definitely a slept on album and worthy of a play through. I still bump that album and it came out last year. Oh he might know about Nas but put him onto the It was Written, I am days.

Torrence Journalism does contain opinion articles. The major difference is that if you’re going to write an opinion piece there needs to be some factual evidence or backing to support your otherwise bullshit opinion. Opinion articles have always been in apart of journalism. When these other websites write their opinion articles offer no references, citations or facts there’s my problem. Writing shit as if it’s true with no backing and ontop it’s opinion is the worse form of journalism ever.
Which brought me to the issues I had with HHG and his articles on his website not containing factual information.

I couldn’t agree more with SixAmp. If your truly gonna call out the bullshit in the industry including those in the True Gaming Network, you have to address the Bullshit that HHG puts out there. We know he is your boy BUT you continue to ignore his shit but you get on everybody else. he is one of the biggest OFFENDERS out there & nothing gets said from you. i listen to EVERY WARZONE and week in & week out HHG has completely OUT THERE or complete FLAMEBAIT topics & you always seem to stay silent in the background or laugh a little but Rarely ever commenting on his “Topics”. no i am NOT a HHG “hater” not at all but the truth is the truth. you can’t come down on PSLS or other sites when HHG makes a living off of it. I APPLAUD you for calling out BULLSHIT articles and sites cuz im 100% tired of reading DUMASS articles, mainly on N4G. But if your gonna DO IT, Do it right. I don’t normally write on comments sections but I noticed that every post basically say the same thing. Seems like Tor gives the other site hell on fire for shit that HHG does on a regular. I love the Bitbag and Tor you know we see eye to eye on a lot of issues in gaming journalism. I am a very open minded guy that has been playing games for decades…I’m 35yo, but I just can not stand most of what HHG spits. I am really sorry “real talk” but I NEVER go to HHG’s site and stopped listening to his podcast. I just get irked buy his voice and Playstation fanboy-ism. I remember talking to you way back when I first found your site and told you about his bias views and you told me your their to balance the sides but you don’t balance the discussion you love all game consoles and HHG just likes the PS3. I am old enough to know that when HHG says a nice comment about the 360, it’s just to save face and so he can say that he likes all the systems but in reality it’s just a cover. I’m from Brooklyn, NYC originally and I know when people are talking BS and not facts. Sorry for the long post. Just a quick point on the format of your shows..It’s not a good idea to have music in the back ground if your voice gets lost in the background. Other than that I love the site and I will continue to support your efforts in promoting your site with Twitter RTs and sending you traffic from my back log on gaming friends.

I don’t think you should get rid of your reviews. It gives your site more content. It does seem like the process is lacking something. I cant put my finger on it. I think you might need a few more writers. Maybe a video review on big name games. I really enjoy GiantBomb’s video reviews.
I was wondering, why don’t you have more segments on your site. Gamer cribs is a great idea. Why not have fans send you videos of their cribs. Then you can post one every week or so. Just an idea to keep quality traffic coming back.
I should do a new Gamer Crib since I moved out to Munich. Basically it’ll be games, beer bottles and a couch =P

I hope that you will accept some constructive criticism.
1) Stop bashing other websites. It just lowers you to their level. Yes, I know, you said in this video that you like to do it. But you might also like picking your nose, and who else is going to do it. But that doesn’t mean that you should.
2) Play to your STRENGTHS!!!!!
a) Opinion – people that come here value your opinion
b) Commentary – people actually care what you think about various topics
c) Warzone – a fantastic 3+ hour long weekly podcast that is unrivaled
d) Davis Weekly – an incredible visual (in HD no less!) tour de force
3) Stop trying to be IGN/1UP/Gamespot. You will NEVER beat them. Not unless you are willing to quit your job, hire a large staff, have travel and other expenses for your staff and devote your life to the job 7×24. It is not going to happen. Until you realize this, you will be unhappy. You have an incredible talent (see #2 above) and you should focus your website on those exclusively. When gaming news is breaking, you, like me, are at work. But the IGN folks are at their expensive computers in their cubicles writing it up immediately as it comes in. You don’t have that luxury, nor do I. But what you do have is something they will NEVER have (again see #2 above).
4) Redesign your website. There are thousands of Wordpress templates that you can buy for under $100 that would change the look and feel of this site. Yeah, I know, you appear to use Artisteer, but regardless, make a change. Take your time, get some feedback from your core crew on some top designs that you like and then make the change to something new.
5) The Warzone used to be about True Gamers talking about console gaming. Lately it has changed (for the worst) into bashing other websites and “he said/she said” discussions. I don’t care about someone who stole some article from another website and didn’t credit some other obscure website. I don’t care. Don’t. Care. At all. I come to this website because of YOU and your staff. I actually want to hear what you think about games and gaming, and just the general stuff you chat about. The dynamic that goes on between you and HipHopGamer is fantastic. While he may indeed be the Billy Mays of the Sony Playstation, you are the polar opposite in the Warzone. Which makes for an excellent show every week. Then sprinkle in the rest of the crew and groupies, and you have a real formula for success.
OK. I’m done. Remember, it was constructive criticism, not an attack. I would really like to see more BitBag stuff and less Hannah Montana Purple PSP articles….
