Well I must be a well informed working adult then since I own a PS3.

As for the rest of your post it seems pretty pointless. So you went through 2 consoles that died on you or froze up.....okay.....so? I own 20 gig(Dec 05 launch console) Halo 3 edition(120 gig added on) and a 60 gig 360. I also own an 80gig PS3 with BC and here I am a consumer that has yet to experience RROD or any problems with my 360's or YLOD or Blu-Ray issues with my PS3. Face it your in the minority of consumers who have had issues with their consoles. Consumers that own PS3 are no different in how they feel about their system then 360 owners that had issues.

You can come up with whatever numbers you heard of about RROD when consumers are still buying the 360 and it isn't simply because of the price the way you put it. People are buying all versions of the 360 just like they are buying the 40 or 80 gig PS3's. They are also buying the accesories like the hardrives and controllers. Damn they are spending money on Rockband so what makes you think consumers care about your break down of how much it cost to get started. Your not the first person to BREAK IT DOWN about the cost and make it sound like it is so expensive. Once again MS decided giving consumers options to get what they need when they are ready. Sony decided to give you everything they wanted. Sony started with that strategy and look at what they have done since launch. They first stated they were not even going to offer multiple sku models at E3 05 when MS introduced the 360. Come E3 06 we saw Sony decided to offer a 20 and 60 gig sku.
Since then we have seen Sony move away from the everything in the box to where we are today to save cost on the system. One company has not taken any features out of the box while the other company is steady taking features groups you can no longer get now. Nobody can walk in a store and get the 80gig model I have with the amount of USB ports and memory slots today. You can't walk in the store and get backwards compatibility with the emotion engine on the launch models. Sony took it out because their plan hasn't worked out like they expected. They have sold alot but not enough to be where they though they would be by now. They were not expecting to be in 3rd place.

I have a sob story too if you want to call it that. I went through 3 PS2's and either the door jammed on the fat PS2's or I had to put my PS2 slim upside down in order to read the disc because the door would not stay closed after just a year. Non of those stopped me from playing the PS2 because I enjoyed the games that came with it and "as a hard working and well imformed consumer" I took the OPTION of getting a PRP(Product Replacement Plan) for my systems that I have decided to do on the 360 and PS3's that I own now. So I decided to pay extra money for the convience to go down to Best Buy give them my broke shit and walk out the door with a new one.

So it doesn't matter that I have yet to have any issues with my systems today just like it didn't matter that I went through 3 PS2 models back in the day. The games is why I bought them and it wasn't becuase of the price. Just like 50 dollars didn't stop me in 2002 until today playing Xbox Live on my Xbox and 360.

Oh and they have deals out there for us consumers to find and it is easy to look around since I am renewing on the 20th for Live I looked around and got this deal here:

12 Month Live Card = 44.96
Wired Head Set = 19.99
PGR4 = 19.99
Messenger Kit= 24.99
800 Points (if a card existed) = $10

Total individually = 119.93
Total bundled = $55.96
That's $63.97 saved.

mboojigga lol Cheaper Console= more sales, that is it. It does not mean the 360 is a better or the PS3 is not a good console. 360 is generally purchased more then the PS3 due to its price and it had 2 year head start. I owned 2 360's one died and the other one i traded in when it started freezing. So i was like shit i can afford quality so i traded in my second 360 right before it bricked for a PS3 because it started the whole freezing thing. Sales do matter only when it comes to non exclusive titles because the PS3 sometimes get the crappy version of ported games because the game makers use the 360 platform to develop due to there being more 360 owners.

All i know it that i haven't had any issues wit the PS3 and the exclusives are unmatched. I may purchase another 360 for Splinter Cell if the hardware is updated because MY experiences with the hardware has been frustrating to say the least. Well informed working adults buy the PS3 for its QUALITY AND DEPENDABILITY, the 360 is pushed and marketed to the younger generation meaning kids. Johnny's mother will buy him the 200.00 console before she buys the 400.00 console. But if i bought the 360 it would equal the same price or more than the 40 gig ps3. I would have to purchase the wireless router cuz my home office is connected and my HD plasma TV is downstairs, year subscription of live (50.00) and a hard drive which cost 60.00 to 150.00 depending on the size. So when u add it up u get a cost of 410.00 plus tax and that's with purchasing a arcade version with a 20 gig refurbished hard drive lol. Adults who are ex 360 owners switched over because they have the money and you get all those features included with free online. Microsoft does a excellent job of making inpatient consumers think they are getting a cheaper product when they are actually not. IMO with the failure rates it doesn't make any fking sense to own both consoles because buying faulty tech when you know its going to have a really short life span is a bad investment. 2 1/2 years later with zero issues and great exclusives i am having the best time gaming since Sega genesis and quake 1 and counterstrike and its only going to get better.

I can't believe no one mentioned this the majority of the Wii USER base is made of casual gamers. So when a "hardcore" or more mature game is sold on the platform and doesn't sell as well as the other shovelware the reason is because of how many gamers that own a Wii are interested in that type of game. You'll have people who like Torrence who will support it but the casual market doesn't care. It's a reason there called casual. Fat said right and everyone ignored it, yes some of those casual gamers may turn hardcore but it will happen over time and it won't be the majority of the fan base. Also third party titles aren't really making alot of money off of Nintendo really Nintendo is making all the money with their first party titles. I knew exactly what Nintendo was aiming for and it's the exact same reason why i didn't purchase it and i seen it happening with the gamecube. I play the Wii sometimes when i go visit friends who do have it. I've played Mario, Zelda, Wii sports, Metroid, no more heroes and others... Just because people who don't own the Wii bitch about the games that are being shoved out doesn't mean we don't speak or at least relate with those who do have the system and are drowned out from the majority of the casuals who aren't purchasing or requesting better shit. Not all Wii games are bad it's just that some of bullshit be produced and sold like Wii sports resorts. If you really want to be real i think if the game was on PSN/XBL it resorts would have just been made as add-on DLC but because we talking about nintendo and how they historically have done things (Mario Kart for the Wii) are pushing the same game out with new events basically. Yah Archery and Frisbee! It's already selling like crazy. The real problem we all want NOT to happen is for hardcore gamers to be forgotten it's cool to have a casual market but lets not say fuck you. According to Jon Shaw Nintendo said fuck hardcore....

Demo play is fucking stupid! Yeah you could not select it but what ever happened to just giving hints? Don't you think you'll be spoiling the experience from the consumer because they see how you beat a certain part and then they do it... the self accomplishment is gone.

I am interested in Worldwide numbers too. But we don't get those until MS or Sony actually provide that info. The only sources we have that are close to accurate is NPD and Chart Track. I don't personally care for VGcharts myself. I don't even pay the doom and gloom articles because they are mainly opinion pieces but we have seen them go both ways. Up until just before E3 we either read about the 360 has no games or the 360 is maxed out etc etc.
