darksiders doesn’t have a prayer of even being competition for GOD OF WAR 3. i think torrence and spenny might have been sniffing some sort of illegal substance. :P

heavyrain is currently in alpha stage and has not yet been polished, according to the devs, and it looks great already. in terms of it not being able to run on the 360, i’ll take the dev’s word over hiphop’s, only they truly know all the systems they have running in the game.

anyways, another great warzone. and i’m looking forward to the next warzone already, keep up the good work…

and torrence, bring back my damn DD’s.

  • Basic-information says:

for the Kojima teaser, I think whatever he is revealing next is gonna be on PS3 either multiplatform or not.

And I think they will announce two games, a metal gear game and another game from Kojima.

  • Bucnasty says:

yeah darksiders will be nowhere near GOW3

  • freezola75 says:

downloading it now and i think Tor is getting prepared for e3 so DD’s that turned into DF’s have now turned into DAWOL’s lol. just kidding i know you guys are planning something big so I can wait 4 the next DF.

  • Bucnasty says:

so whats a bomb to you guys as far as the E3 goes a past sony game to come on 360 or vice versa or a new ip that looks amazing. i just dont really think MS has anything to really show and we already know what sony is showing so what bombs do you guys think MS will pull off. a motion controller i remember last year that they said they will be focusing on tha casual market so i think MS conf will be like nintendo’s was last year.

  • Basic-information says:

Darksiders gonna be awesome, and gametrailers have a good descritption for the game, they say its like Zelda in hell haha.

  • Basic-information says:

Tor I would like you talk about GTTV’s special E3 preview in your next DD, do you think they are ruining E3 for us by spoiling the surprises?

  • SixAmpFuze says:

OMG Icant take thsi shit anymore.I cant take the CAN be don bullshit.Every fucking game can be done on either system, this shouldnt be brought up anymore.

    • kingpin2k7 says:

well fable 2 cant be done on the ps3 cause lionhead doesn’t work for sony, uncharted can’t be done on the 360 cause naughty dog doesn’t work for microsoft. 360 can’t play ps3 games cause 360 doesn’t read blu-ray disc and ps3 can’t play 360 games cause ps3 doen’t play 360 dvd games. you’d think it would be pretty obvious by now :D

    • Lifendz says:

For a podcast that claims to not be a “righteous game zealot” they sure do make some pretty definitive statements ala Heavy Rain can be done on 360.

NOtice that the convo is never whether a MS exclusive title can be done on PS3. Why is that? I don’t recall them ever saying Alan Wake or Gears 2 or whatever can be done on PS3.

  • Bucnasty says:

i beleive the devs before i beleive any of you guys it is the code running the game

  • LawKassab says:

Darksiders: Wrath of War will be an open world game and it will be an RPG and you can do what you want whenever you want . the developers call it a hi-bred of GTA, ZELDA, AND GOD of WAR …. open world , exploration , and a deep combat system …. there will be no humans , its one hundred years after the Apocalypse and War of the 4 horsemen has been accused of staring the Apocalypse too early and you are on a mission of revenge and to find out who really started the Apocalypse

  • LawKassab says:

Alpha Protocol will be the sleeper hit of the year ……

Fallout 3 changes over time doesn’t it

  • DragonWarrior4 says:

Hey Tor. You gonna hire me dude?

  • Fatboy says:

Welcome back Fat, I was really thinking about you, where were you man, we need you to stay on the show,
What the hell is this, Tor I downloaded the podcast to enjoy it not to listen to whoever was breathing into the Mic?

  • Fatboy says:

The most important thing ,We need DD ,Please Tor, I was waiting for DD a lot of shit happened last week,I know you are busy, but you have to feed us,(that is what you said on one of WZ),
    Feed us knowledge

  • ausbo says:

tell hiphop to stop the breathing in the mic

  • Lifendz says:

Let me preface what I’m about to say with this: I’m a grown man, I’m into violent games, I watch R rated movies and I enjoy stand-up by guys like Patrice Oneal. In short, cursing doesn’t offend me.

Okay, that said I had to turn off the podcast because of John Shaw’s gratuitous use of the F word. Using profanity every once in a while is cool. We’re all grown men and that’s how we communicate. But when every other word is F this or F’ing that it just gets ridiculous. The guy sounds like Mickey Mouse (if Mickey Mouse had a California accent). Add in the cursing and he sounds like Mickey Mouse the Pirate.

Weapon, I hope you actually stop with the doom and gloom stuff on Sony. It’s enough already. ErlFly, I appreciated the FFXIII info but you’re comment that “yeah it can be done on 360″ was somewhat weird to me. Isn’t it already coming to 360? What was the point of that little statement.

Tor, don’t use me as a barometer for PS3 owners. I think the DLC should be cheaper despite the fact that it’s the same price on 360 because we haven’t had it available since day one. It’d be cool if Bethesda cut the price, even if it were by a few bucks, as a way of saying sorry we made you wait. That’s just me though. I’d feel the same way if the Lost and Damned were available on PS3 at some point down the line and it was released for the same price as it was sold for on 360.

Good show. Just need two things: 1) mute everyone (including bitbaggers) because the constant mic breathing is getting annoying. No one should be masturbating or whatever they’re doing during the show. 2) Get a v-chip or a thesaurus for John Shaw.

    • Da_Dios says:

LMFAO! Yeah understand where you coming from. Jon just speaks with a lot of passion or at least i feel he does so he pulls no punches and lets everything out. Sometimes you are at a loss of words and you can’t fully express what your feeling at that moment so you subdue the most generic term you can relate to which in lots of cases is an expletive. Give Jon some time i’m sure with constructive criticism he’ll get better.

Also i agree with your statement on the Fallout DLC i rented the game so i didn’t get a chance to play it on the consoles i played it on the PC and the DLC sucks skunks ass on it! I think it would just be better to wait it out until October where they package the game and all the DLC together for retail price it’s a better deal to me… Paying full price for DLC that isn’t new per say is a little tasteless if you ask me.

      • Lifendz says:

Passion? Is that what you call it? Then the guy that’s standing in front of grand central station is speaking with a lot of “passion” since all he uses is profanity. Look, like I said, I know that we as men curse. When A-Rod hits a homer I don’t say “good golly gosh he’s good.” I say “he’s the F’ing man.” But when ever other word is F this or that it just gets crazy. And the guy sounds like Mickey Mouse already. I watched the South park episode with the Jonas Brothers and Mickey Mouse and it reminded me of John Shaw on the Warzone. I think the episode was extra funny because of that.

In fact, if John Shaw wore Mickey Mouse ears during his little videos I’d watch every single one. I’d advertise the bitbag for Torrence by telling every gamer on every forum to check out Mickey Mouse the Priate’s take on gaming.

  • otherZinc says:

    @weapon x:
    Please answer this?!:

Since God of War 3 is going to be E3! To make the most money, what would you do; Take the retail sales of Halo 3:ODST or God of War 3?
If someone had a gun to your head; what would be played more in years time; Halo 3:ODST or God of War 3

I ask you this because you are so strong in your comments as God of War 3 being everything there is to see at E3. I really would like to read your comment.

    @Weapon X: answer that^^^

    @HipHop:
Ninja Gaidens story is fantastic, Ninja Gaidens problem is the game is too hard for most. Also, my son has been in the Martial Arts almost 6 years & Ninja Gaidens weapons & stances are as authentic as it will ever get in any game in the history of games, period! Even the Boat Oar is an actual weapon, in real life, people thought it wasn’t, Ninja Gaiden is the s***!

    1. Okay Torrence or John Shaw whoever wants to explain this. “Why are exclusives the bottom line for PlayStation owners?”comment… You kind of candy coated the statement by saying gamers in general but recently a lot of your questions and comments have been slighted to Sony console owners. It’s a big web out here as you know, it really sounds as if you only address Sony fanboys and completely ignore any other console fanboy. You harp on why PlayStation owners hold exclusives so dear but the reality is gamers in general who feel that way towards exclusives hold them at a different bar because these games are focused not on just a game but focused on a specific platform. Back in the day (Nintendo/Sega) platforms exclusives didn’t show a huge difference from what one system offers to the other. This gen more then any look at the Wii. Wii exclusive games wouldn’t work the same on a PS3/360 they offer a completely different experience and for games like MGS4 or Uncharted they offer a game play experience that isn’t available in their respective genres on another platform and “up the ante” per say . Really the prime argument should be WHY DO YOU CARE! Fanboys are fanboys what arguments are you bringing to the table that haven’t already been discussed against them? Leave the fanboys alone, for fucks sake it’s a pointless battle…

    2. The “loyal fanbase” question was answered in that very same topic… I added support to the argued statement.

    3. OMG LMFAO They called hiphop an oompa loompa with a doorag!

    • “I think you hit something with that post, even with “loyal fanbase” and the attempt to turn the phrase south in reality Sony consumers have truly been the base audience for Square-Enix. Yes it’s true they didn’t birth the series the core of the fanbase in recent history supported Sony’s console. I understand Square-Enix trying to “westernize” their appeal. Such is the observation when they have expressed with so much delight developing for Microsofts console BUT as witnessed with a demo of a game more then 50,000 PS3 were sold in a week just to get their hands on FFXIII in JP. That’s saying something… If you don’t believe that Sony’s fanbase whether that is PSP, PS2 or PS3 owners are more loyal to Square-Enix then please state a rebuttal.”

      Ok.

Final Fantasy got it’s fame and popularity on the NES systems. Then it moved onto Playstation platforms and now onto 360/PS3. I would like you to tell me how the fuck Square knows where it’s final fantasy fans are? 50k for a demo? That’s not a large enough sampling for you to just say that the majority of the FF fanbase owns PS3’s. YOu have no idea and neither does Square. You don’t know who owns 360’s and PS3’s. You don’t know where your most sales are gonna be. So what’s the best thing to do? Go multiplatform. And if you think that the Final Fantasy fanbase all owns PS3’s, I’d like you to tell me how it’s possible for Square or anyone to know this.

      I’m waiting for your rebuttal.

      • Da_Dios says:

No one has statistics on what console gamers from past generations picked up when this generation hit. You count these fanbases by its BRAND when products move from generation to generation. The microsoft brand in the videogame industry is still shifting through the rough with J/RPG’s (at least for acclaim and quality). Meanwhile the Sony brand has rich roots (stemming from PS1). An example of Sony’s Brand strength and how it applies to games and their fanbase is Resident Evil 5. Resident Evil was birthed on the Sony BRAND and till this day the game has sold more on the PS3 then the 360. One that further explains this is Street Fighter 4. This game was birthed in the arcade then ported to TurboGrafx-CD but for arguments sake Street Fighter didn’t kick off until SF2 and i’ll just reference the SNES version since it was Capcom’s best-selling consumer game of all-time similarly Final Fantasy. With that said since the Playstation was birthed almost every Street fighter game was ported over to it and has outsold its competitors on other platforms. No different this generation SF4 was released on both platforms but it still managed to sell better on Sony’s platform. It’s the BRAND that supports this especially with there being more 360 WW then PS3’s. That speaks for the “loyal fanbase” comment the brand presents a synergy with certain projects. Of course with cases like GTA and exclusive side offerings this may not apply but even with other franchises like DMC4 the Sony brand remains stronger despite having fewer units available. I know i didn’t provide much RPG comparison but being that there aren’t many multiplat RPG’s at the moment I chose to use the games above just as examples. If there’s something we all have learned this gen it’s that internet hype and banter doesn’t equal sales and overall opinion. Case and point being Killzone 2 and its non-blockbuster sales. And fanboys, How many times have we heard the fanboys from each side spew flaming unworthy quoted comments to only see the opposite occur. I’m not going to defend the notion that the “loyal fanbase” comment was to support some biased Sony fan argument that Square should have made FFXIII exclusive but I will say that the “loyal fanbase” quote does have merit in another tense. That being that throughout Sony’s past consoles regardless of where the consumer migrated from (Dreamcast, Genesis, N64, SNES, etc) the fact remains that the franchise has gotten its acclaim recognition and fame on Sony’s platform. This has been shown (strictly FF) through two generations that lasted roughly from 1997 up until 2006. Starting with Final Fantasy’s 7 – 12. Even with Final Fantasy XI being on 360 it still didn’t sell more then the PS2 version. I would attribute the fanbase comment to the Sony Brand and why I feel so fucking pissed on why I have to wait longer to play the game with their “worldwide release” outside of Japan bullshit. I’ve made it very clear that I am very pissed that the western release was being held so that both platforms get a simultaneous release. It’s not that the 360 is getting it it’s that the game is done and will be out in JP and we would have seen the game earlier due to the localization process being faster then in years past. As well as the utter-bullshit Square is preaching (”360 dev will be after PS3 is done” then “we’re working simultaneously on both”). It’s bullshit and i wish they would keep it real and tell us exactly how they’re handling the porting and development for both.

P.S Torrence that 50K I supplied to you was bundled sales that sold a PS3 and the advent children complete blue-ray disc and Demo. You could also buy the movie and have the demo without buying a PS3 I haven’t seen a reliable source to state how well that did standalone in JP but that 50K was total sales…

        • OrochinagiZER0 EX says:

Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete. The blu ray that broke sales records in Japan. The Media Create sales for the week of April 13 – 19th was 274,774. Yeah it was special enough to be listed in Media Create. And in my collection. Gotta run that back June 4.

      • OrochinagiZER0 EX says:

Me? Some PlayStation guy? Didn’t you get the memo? Oops however let me add to this. You can find your userbase based off sales and I already brought up the fact. As far as #45 is concerned, damage control to the extreme. Still trying to control the damage that Sony will do to Microsoft at E3 huh? All this shit about multiplatform but not attending Nintendo’s E3 Press Conference? What exclsuives have Microsoft stolen from Sony? Seriously? After the fact that you yourself stated that Sony did this to Sega (which was 1997 with Tomb Raider 2). Don’t take my word. Take Shane Kim’s. Of course you know who he is so here’s the link which was an interview after E3 2008.

        http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3168783

Lazy version. (Seventh sentence) Hint: It starts with Taking.

1UP: I was actually at the Microsoft RPG conference in Japan where Star Ocean 4, Infinite Undiscovery, and The Last Remnant were shown for 360. So this is a big deal, because up until the point where you announced Final Fantasy XIII for 360, it just looked like, well, “Microsoft’s got the B-titles,” but now, now you have the triple-A SquareEnix franchise. This is a big problem for the PlayStation 3’s momentum in the U.S. among hardcore gamers. It’s not only damaging for console rivals to secure console exclusives from each other, but it’s almost equally damaging to turn a formerly console-exclusive game into a multi-platform game. That takes a big killer-app out of the PS3’s library. Which gets you more excited: Taking a piece of Sony’s cake, or showing people that you’re still in it to win it?

SK: They’re all important. This might be a slightly long answer, but I think it’s a great question. First of all, I do believe that exclusive contents are super important to the success of a platform, that’s why we’ve invested so heavily in Microsoft Game Studios. We’re talking about Halo, Fable, Gears of War, Forza Motorsport, and so on. That’s very important, because those franchises aren’t available on anyone else’s platform. It’s a big driver of our console’s success. Taking franchises that were formerly exclusive to PlayStation 3, and bringing them to Xbox 360 is just as valuable. Titles that have traditionally been big drivers of their success from third-parties, like Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy, the list goes on and on now, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil. These are franchises that have never existed on Xbox 360, and in a way it’s like adding exclusive content, because our customers have never had a chance to enjoy these before.

And the last part of the answer is, is when these franchises do come to Xbox 360, they perform better, sales-wise, on Xbox 360, and I’ll give you two examples, look at the success of Grand Theft Auto 4 sales on Xbox 360. Every single one of those units never existed before on our platform, so we’re having a lot of success there. And yesterday we revealed that 80 percent of all music downloads across all platforms have happened on Xbox Live, and that’s coming from our partners, this is not information we came up with. So, again even though Guitar Hero and Rock Band may be available on other platforms, the fact of the matter is Xbox 360 owners are having longer, deeper experiences. So the combination of all those titles, exclusives, former-exclusives [laughs], and multi-platform titles that have longer experiences on Xbox 360 are all adding up to a great story for us.

        • What you all fail to understand is that 3rd party games are always up for grabs. If you believe what you say, then you must also agree that Sony stole the Final Fantasy franchise, which was made popular on the Nintendo consoles.

I also don’t agree with arguments posted about “loyal fanbase”. Again, we don’t know where Final Fantasy fans are right now. Look at GTA sales. You would have thought the “loyal fanbase” would have all been Playstation 3 owners right? What about Soul Calibur. That’s been spread across many platforms. Where’s the “loyal fanbase”? If you became a Final Fantasy fan in the NES days and now own a Wii, are you a “loyal fan”? What if you bought a 360? Do you still qualify as a “loyal fan”?

Bottom line is this, the 360 and PS3 are NEW machines. This isn’t the PS2 or 1 and it isn’t the NES or SNES or Xbox 1. So you take each generation and start anew. SquareEnix knows there’s money to be made on both consoles. You also have to take into consideration that localization takes 9-12 months. It always has. So I would say that if they can get the game out to the US, 9-12 months after Japan’s release, you have no room to complain Da_Dios.

          • OrochinagiZER0 EX says:

It’s just like what your boy DLB says all the time. If it’s not by Sony then it’s not an exclusive. Yes I agree that Sony did stole Squaresoft from Nintendo. Nintendo’s former President Hiroshi Yamauchi responded by doing damage control, (something in which you’re quite familiar with) in which his statement was

“[People who play RPGs are] depressed gamers who like to sit alone in their dark rooms and play slow games,”- Hiroshi Yamauchi, former President of Nintendo Ltd succeeded by Satoru Iwata.

As a matter of fact, CEO of SCEA Jack Tretton stated on Gamasutra during a roundtable around E3 2008-

“I think that every company thinks that they invented the wheel” he said, “but I think that my first reaction is that we must be doing a lot of things right because I see a lot of things that remind me of what we’re doing.”

            http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=19447 (Tretton on Microsoft)

GTAIV was not the first GTA on Microsoft’s console. It was just that Sony had a time exclusive on these titles (2 years for GTA III) so Microsft platform owners expected a GTA, it’s just that this time around as Peter Moore back at E3 2005 stated the GTA IV will be released day in date. Later we found out how much it costed to achieve this deal. $50,000,000. Damn, that’s a lot of zeros. Lol and no it wasn’t worth it as most people have even finished GTA IV.

Same for Soul Calibur. It has been multiplatform since 2003. The PS2 version of Soul Calibur II sold the least while the GAMECUBE version was the best selling. Despite this, Sony managed to lock up Soul Calibur III as an exclusive which pissed A LOT of people off which actually led the the franchise’s downfall since it was released on console first.

            Variable Cancel/g22 glitch.
            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd8rWl9fQWY

This glitch literally destroyed the Soul community (caliburforum.com) within four days of it’s release. Any fighting genre enthusiast i.e. me knows that Tekken is the premier fighting IP on the PlayStation platform, not the Soul series. The Soul series shined best on the Dreamcast via Soul Calibur. However gameplay wise Soul Calibur II is by far the best. Anyone who wants to battle me on this is welcomed to their death.

The reason Microsoft is doing this is simply to appear to be in a more favorable leadership position on the market. When the successor to the 360 is released, consumers are going to expect Final Fantasy, GTA, Resident Evil, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Devil May Cry, etc to be a given. Afterwards whenever Sony announces the PS4, people will likely be doubtful to wait since it’ll in their view that Microsoft will likely have all the games. Which leads to sales discrepancies. This was how the PS2 was able to quickly overtake the Dreamcast. Consumer says “hey PSOne had all the games. PS2 will have that and more (DVD player)”. That’s what Microsoft is trying to do. However Nintendo disrupted that notion with the success of the Wii. Now Microsoft is going to attempt to emulate Nintendo next Monday (1:30PM EST/12:30PM CST/11:30AM MST/10:30AM PST) Microsoft still doesn’t have an identity nor a real reason to be in this industry. They’re like the Yankees. Throw cash and hopefully it’ll work out. I don’t knock the games on the platform i.e. Lost Planet, Dead Rising, Chromehounds, Gears of War, Dead or Alive 4, Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach 2, etc, just Microsfot itself. Nintendo’s former president Hiroshi Yamauch said it best.

“There are many people in the industry that know nothing about games. In particular, a large American company is trying to do engulf software houses with money, but I don’t believe that will go well. It looks like they’ll sell their game system next year, but we’ll see the answer to that the following year.”

            http://gonintendo.com/?p=1454

          • Da_Dios says:

Torrence do you still honestly believe localization takes 9-12 months? Tell me that after games such as Eternal Sonata, Last Remnant, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean 4 and the up coming Demon Souls (US version) reached Western soil well before the time frame you’ve laid out. Even take a look at Final Fantasy: Dissidia and Final Fantasy: Crisis Core again released way before your 9-12 month time frame. So now with the game slated to come out in 2010 if it takes longer then what the “new” localization standard do i have right to complain?

          • Da_Dios says:

Meant to add this in with my response I spoke on the GTA scenario they had the “almighty” exclusive episodes that played a part in that. Soul Calibur hasn’t had a “premier” platform with that said the 360 version sold 160k more then the PS3 version, basically a toss up. Again in Square-Enix’s defense when they sell a game on the Playstation Brand you’d expect your base to remain regardless of what “other” consoles they may have at the time. Your looking at the “fanbase” on a person by person scale in situations like these you can’t you look at the sales and how it performed in the past. The past shows that even though FF wasn’t birthed on Playstation it profitted the most on it’s machines. Torrence answer this why do think more PS3 owners brought RE5, DMC4 and SF4? With the 7+ million console lead that microsoft has this scenario shouldn’t occur right? The only thing i can attribute that too is that the Sony brand was more popular with those franchises and presented those results. Like i said even with GTA offering “exclusive” content the PS3 brand still managed to kick out 5.5+ million sales resulting in a 1+ million advantage for microsoft. Was the extra million or so people pushed due to the “exclusive” content? Who knows how that would have turned out if that wasn’t the case…

I think I get dumber every time I listen to this show. LOL. You know what Tor? Forget about it. I dont wanna work for you. Really whats the point when you dont even take your site that seriously?

Nothing against you of course, but if you take Spenny, weapon, Bully, Drakol and give them your blessing to work on your site and not me, you can kiss my fucking ass.

    • One of these days you’ll learn patience and when you do, it will make you a better man. I announce the jobs on Friday’s Warzone, you listen to it yesterday and here it is Monday and you’re bitching at me for not getting back to you yet. Do you realize it’s the weekend and I’d rather spend time playing games with my son and gardening then answering to emails about the job listings?

      LEARN SOME FUCKING PATIENCE!!!!!!!!!

I’d still like to have a writing sample from you too. I want everyone to send a writing sample.

I’m working with Jon, Spenny is doing a kick ass job and Drakol did a great job with Japan gaming. I have to work with people one on one to help them step their game up. I did it with Hiphop, Drakol, Spenny and I’ll be working with Gamergirl too. This isn’t easy and when it’s the weekend for me, it’s the WEEKEND. I don’t like answering fan mail or requests or anything that has to do with the site on the weekend. I’ve gone through everyone’s emails and watched your video. I had no intention of responding to you or anyone else until E3 was over. That’s where my mind is right now.

      xboxstation3:

I agree, there are not 100 decent games on the PS3 & 9 360 games is ridiculous. HipHop is still my favorite video game personality, he’s just a SONY super fan & that’s ok, its good for entertainment.

I want to know why everyone makes a big deal over god of war3 .From all the screens and video ive seen Ihavent seen anything that impressive to have gasms.the graphics look decent to good.Whats the big deal. Please tell me.

    • Da_Dios says:

We can’t make you feel as hype about the game but what makes me freaking love this Series is not just that Kratos kicks ass and game is a fucking blast to play. It’s the presentation! The narration is fucking off the chains, Linda Hunt was fucking perfect. Seriously for me it’s the story and the presentation of the game that makes it an instant classic. The way everything was presented was top notch.

      *Spoiler ALERT*

Seriously he fucking kills Ares and becomes the God of War! Furthermore he is leading a war against the Gods and all on Olympus! It’s almost the epitome of Epic when you view the story and play it out.

  • Bucnasty says:

i think uncharted 2 looks amazing is anyone picking up infamous tomorrow and dont you get a beta code when you buy the game

  • SixAmpFuze says:

uncharted was amazing and i can see the hype and the gasms for that but not for god of war 3

    • K.Sense says:

some people like Da_Dios like God of War because of the story but others like it because of what it’s trying to achieve and what is expected of it, like you said the graphics are decent to good and add that to apparently 50 enemies at once with that same good quality is something you have to be impressed by especially since not all the grunts will be exact copies of each other two to three designs for a grunt can go a long way from making it look like Dynasty Warriors. The other points are the idea of a continuous game there will only be little loading time the scale will be epic and that is what they have been emphasizing the whole scale of the game, how the backgrounds will be much more alive, how there will be tons of enemies with hardly any graphical sacrifices.

Finally we have the things that people normally expect out of God of War, like the story many people love the story but a strong point is the voice acting, like in the Fear Nothing trailer when Kratos says “I hope for nothing…” and “I fear nothing…” you can hear the emptiness in him, the voice actor is bringing his A-game, even if Kratos is a character viewed as the embodiment of rage the voice actor was able to convey a different side of Kratos without compromising his character, the voice acting for Kratos gives you hope that the rest of the voice actors on set will be just as good. Another thing that people will be looking forward too which every God of War game has and will offer is the pacing many games have you focused on progressing through combat but God of War between combat there will always be puzzles ones that will slow the pace down then soon it will bring the pace back up, it’s how God of War is put together how it is presented.

In the end it will also be the end of Kratos’ story with the Greek Gods it will end the trilogy to a franchise that has become a game that people have learned to love, be intrigued by or simply put follow. We will know if Kratos will suceed, will Zeus win, will the Titans turn on Kratos when he defeats Zeus, will Kratos turn on the Titans once he is done with Zeus? All these theories and possible outcomes have been made by the loyal fanbase and these aren’t even all the theories. If these people are so immersed within the storyline it would be inevitable that a game would be hyped the way God of War 3 is hyped.

  • OrochinagiZER0 EX says:

Yeah I get that a lot. The name is a representation of many of thing of one. For one, Orochinagi is the name of Kyo Kusanagi’s Super Desperation Move (SDM/DM) from The King of Fighters series. It’s the one where he light it up and the finish. Yeah there is a real difference between real and commercial.

    • Da_Dios says:

Oh yeah you right damn it’s been a while since i played KoF… Now that i think about it Kyo is heir to the Kusanagi clan and Kusanagi is the name of the sword Orochimaru uses.

I really like the podcast. You Guys bring up a lot of good issues and have good conversations. It’s definitely one of the best video game podcasts out there and to be able to talk for three hours and still keep things interesting is something else. Only negative thing I have to say is about John Shaw. Why do you feel you gotta curse in every single sentence? It’s alright to curse every now and then but every other word you use is F*** and S***. It makes you sound ignorant and mad. No disrespect but you should tone it down a little, your arguments and points would be more clear.

Oh yeah: I’m interested in reviewing for the Bitbag so, Torrence, if you still got a spot open I’ll send you a writing sample by next wednesday. I really can’t do it now because of Prom, Squam, and a bunch of tests.

I hate to call someone out but seriously Jon is gettin on my nerves. He thinks that when he raises his voice he makes ppl intimidated.

  • snskid says:

I finally got enough free time to listen to Warzone 45 and mang I definitely have some stuff to say.

After the 16bit generation I didn’t get a Saturn. Instead I got a PSone. Ever since then I just chose the Sony brand when it came to consoles. I did own a Dreamcast and Gamecube. So when the PS2 came out I knew that was the system I was going to get. it’s because of games like DMC, FF, Tekken, MGS and God of War that made such a fan of the PS2. I knew I was going to get a PS3 because the games I want to play were going to be on it. Based on what the first XBOX was all about I never even considered a 360. I don’t plan on owning one because I never did. I don’t care about games going mulitplatform because I know I’m going to get to play my favorite franchise. I do own a Wii for the Nintendo first party titles. Tatsunoko vs Capcom is just an added bonus.

I am not a big FPS or 3rd Person shooter fan and I probably never will be so games like Killzone 2 and Gears of War 2 will never be my first choice when it comes to a game purchase. That said I do really like R2 and RE5.

After listen to this podcast apparently something is wrong with me because I don’t like inFamous. Tor you didn’t like Shadow od the Colossus and that was one of fav games on PS2. I really don’t think you guys should just immediate assume people aren’t real gamers if they don’t like a game you drool over.

I am a huge fighting game fan. The PS3 games that I spend the most time playing are Tekken 5 DR and SFIV even though I enjoy playing and own other games. My game of the year do far is SFIV because I enjoy fighting games more than any other game. I got an XBOX just so I could play SVC Chaos SNK vs Capcom.

    http://www.eventhubs.com, http://www.shoryuken.com ,www.evo2k.com and http://zachd.com/inventiveflow/index.html are websites I visit.

I don’t normally defend my choices in gaming, but I refuse to like a game that I don’t like.
