pc gaming is nowhere as big as it once was(but certainly not dead), and that’s mainly due to piracy, it’s NOT due to a lack of publisher support, and these current gen systems. as a pc gamer, i hope and think that there’s a light at the end of the piracy tunnel, and that’s digital distribution.

The first one being the interview with that guy from Microsoft , after that i listened to about number 20 starting from the interview and going backwards . You really know your shit and you deserve to have way more people on your site . I listen to warzone and i remember how I started yapping about PC games… man at the moment I thought I’m going for a monologue there. There are 5 more points I had in head to talk about but then I would be doing HHG so i just cuted myself out.
so it’s up to me to make money for Sony and Microsoft and buy there games weather I want it or not , what if I don’t have the money for every game . I don’t have every 360 game . I think Torrence Davis is 100% when he says the PS3 was bought for a blue ray player …. I think HHG loves Sony more then they love them selves …..
I always tell myself, on Friday I’m going to stop by the warzone but I’m always out in the night lol. This Friday coming up, I’m going to try my best to get into the warzone chats.
Just wanted to say a lil about the PC debate. I understand where both Tor & HHG is coming from but there will always be a market for PC. It’s not as relevant as before but developers that make that “it” game can make bank off PC gaming.
I dont think that Torrence is right about the blue ray player thing. Of course some of them were bought for blue ray only, but I think the majority were for games.
Otherwise 3rd party titles like CoD, GTA, SF, RE would not have sell well.
Except Gran turismo sony never had a first party title that could match with the halo sells, I mean God of war sold 3-4 million on a 120 million platform…
Playstation owners have specific games they play and thats it. While 360 owners in this case are more hardcore they want to play everything.
About the PC debate, as long as Blizzard stays PC exclusive there will be always a PC market.

Killzone 2 Does Not Come ANYWHERE Close To CRYSIS! Someone tell HipHop to stop saying Killzone 2 is on the level of Crysis graphics wise. If you think that, play Crysis on a PC other than your Commador 64!

HHG is starting the make the show look bad. he obviously has no idea what he’s talking about when it comes to half the stuff he says, and the PC discussion proved it. i literally could’ve crushed every “point” he tried to make about the PC, and i don’t even play games on PC! never have and never will. i know Torrence always gets a kick out of this, but….i was almost yelling at my computer because of all the bullshit i was hearing lol.

I gotta disagree. HHG was dead on about PC gaming. None of the guys could counter any of his points. Some of them refused to answer his questions and danced around them to avoid looking stupid. Somebody was bringing up irrelevant points like “the first metal gear was on PC” which had nothing to do with the point he was making. I rarely say this but at the moment I was glad he was on the show. Oh, and Torrence listing the games he has on PC was downright pathetic. Not one of the games he mentioned that isn’t on console was a game I gave a rats *** about.
And while you can run Crysis well for 500 bucks, it doesn’t refute the point that you may not be able to run a game that comes out next month with that same rig. PC gaming is dying. Just because “somebody is buying those games” doesn’t mean it’s a substantial amount of people. If it was, PC games would come out day and day with 360 and PS3 games.
And can we stop with the whole “Sony must do [blank]” to stay alive? For Christs sake the PS3 is doing fine. Why does Weapon go on every show about what Sony needs to do to stay afloat.

To be honest, the debate was pretty incoherent. It felt like someone needed to step up, get to the core and then talk about it… cause it felt like both camps did not understand each other and/or were talking with different backgrounds in their minds.
HHG wanted to say that PC was dying because of the new systems. Sure, it’s one factor. But it’s only one – ONE – that may or may not decrease the PC-game-sales. It’s a valid point though, but you have to realize that you cannot only use that point to come to a great conclusion. After that valid point, mostly BS came out of HHG’s mouth. It’s pretty obvious that he ain’t playing on the PC and does not know much about it.
I did listen with an open mind. Perhaps you should take your own advice. And you absolutely can base an entire argument on the sales for PC games declining based on the new systems. The average gamer doesn’t want to go through the headache of wondering whether their rig can run this game well or not; they just want to pick it up and play it. With the new consoles pumping out games like Gears, KZ2, Uncharted, FFXIII, etc, it doesn’t make sense to spend so much money on a PC that might possibly not be able to play the next big game six months later.
Then, here is a question.
Why is it “dying” more now than before? Is this generation different?
PC gaming has declined but the word Dead is very strong. Also the 11.5 million monthly subscribers to WoW would like to know why is it that no other console game on this current generation has outsold it yet? The point is due to many factors PC gaming has declined. HHG’s defense on his subject of opinion was weak. He basically said because the PC don’t have any games. When even bringing games like L4D and Gears of War are on the PC and games such as Half-life 2 and Team Fortress began on the PC. He simply argues “I can play that on my console…” which doesn’t dispute the argument that the PC doesn’t have games. This whole thing about you having to update your PC every six months to play the next PC game is false and far from the truth. If you ever played a PC game then you’d know that when they make a game they make it with the intention of being played by a broad audience and make it to be played perfect on the minimum requirements. The option is up to the user if they want to play on maximum settings.

I agree on everything you said but the PC-update thing. I do think that it is a factor. It may not be the truth as you say, but i do think that people have those thoughts buried deep inside, which may lead to a decrease in PCgamesales.

MAG isn’t going to sell at all. I don’t care if its released all by itself on Thanksgiving Day, ain’t gon do s***! MAG doesn’t have a single player: I wouldn’t buy that, how the hell can I play by myself. There are more people than most of you think that play the campaign in shooters, Warhawk & Socom should have told developers that.

COD 4 didn’t dethrone Halo 3, COD 4 may have beat Halo 3 for a weekend but Halo 3 always got it right back. Also, look at Major Nelson for the most played game for the 360 in 07 & 08 & tell me who won: its Halo 3 if you don’t want to look. Now, its Halo 3 all day. If you want to expand it to all consoles, then COD 4 beats Halo 3, but never on 1 console & Halo:ODST is going to be the sales leader & online leader for the holiday season on the 360.
I bought Lair because of what you said on the Davis Daily. I wish I didn’t though. I think Lair sucks, but I only spent $20 so its no big deal.

With that being said maybe the person who played halo wars had more fun than playing killzone. Just like Spenny said you can’t compare both games because they are pretty much opposites. Great show, however i am sick of the ps3 has no marketing stint every week and i am getting sick of it.
I think Drago’s frustration with Spenny stems from the KZ2 review and Spenny hinting that he may not have fully understood the grading scale. Funny a$$ moment nonetheless. Hearing Spenny meekly say “what” after Drago got on him had me dying laughing.

I agree, many sites are saying Halo Wars just has the Halo name, that’s BS. I cant stand RTS games: tried End War because I love UBI & Rainbow Six & Ghost Recon series, hated it: tried Halo Wars because of the Halo Universe, loved it.
Halo Wars was so good, I beat it back to back, once on Normal & ran it back in Legendary Mode. I also beat Killzone 2 before playing Halo Wars, there’s no comparison, different games. However, Halo Wars is a lot better than Killzone 2 & has greater replay value than Killzone 2 imo.

Why is it up to Torrence, HipHop, & the Bitbag to promote all these titles? Killzone 2 was promoted by every podcast I listen to (gamesonsmash, dlb network, warzone & a few others before I started listening to the Warzone), every site I visit, every magazine. Every form of media hyped Killzone 2 to death for years.
Why isn’t it the developers of Killzone 2’s fault for disregarding an important feature like co-op, is that the bitbags fault? No, its the developers fault.
Bioshock had ZERO advertising & sold better than Killzone 2, maybe Killzone 2 didn’t pack the punch to create the excitement needed to be a blockbuster at retail.
Infamous isn’t going to come close to 500k sold in a month, it isn’t going to be HipHop or Torrences fault. The developers are at fault, for not making the game explosive enough to dominate at retail.
It sounds like the parent that blames the school for their kid not getting good grades, no, make your kid do his homework before you let him/her outside to play with other idiots.

Everyone so emotional over the whole DragonWarrior/Spenny thing it’s not that serious, relax. It’s the equivalent of someone telling you to shut the fuck up while they talk so you can stop talking over them.
Also DragonWarrior was right i played the inFamous demo and GOD is it fucking fun! I think it’s one of the longest demo’s i’ve ever played tons of shit in their to do. The fighting and powers are way more complex then i first believed. After playing the demo and going back to GTA 4 i’d really have to say that the city seems more lively and reactions/relationships with the NPC’s are better in inFamous. Can’t wait for the whole game!
P.S The game isn’t easy either. I went with the mentality that i have super powers and will pwn all. Not too much later reality struck when i was killed by the shock reapers….
I think UFC undisputed is going to do better than Infamous for May sales come NPD.
