"Since most people tend only to like games with good graphics and no substance (like most Playstation owners)"

it's like you've said on the show before--VII was many people's first JRPG. i'm 24 years old, but my first JRPG was actually Chrono Trigger. i just played it for the first time last year lol. FFX was my first Final Fantasy, and FFVII was my second. since then i've also played FFIV, V, VI and Super Mario RPG, and i can say that anybody who likes FF and hasn't played the SNES releases is really missing out. even though i've been gaming for over 15 years, there's a lot of stuff i've missed and i don't mind going back to check it all out.

one of my next purchases is actually going to be the Final Fantasy Origins release on PSX that has the first two on it.

do you have any suggestions for any slept on JRPGs from the NES, SNES and Sega days?

Good question. I think once FF moved to the Playstation platform, it was easy to adapt. FF was a VERY important franchise and I can't see why people don't see how popular it was on the Nintendo consoles.

that was a great piece of history. i'll have to check out more stuff from the archives.

i have a question about the original Playstation, though. since Nintendo had been out years longer and had the Final Fantasy games and other stuff like that that Japan likes, did the first Playstation immediately become a hit in Japan or did it take the release of FFVII for them to really embrace it?
