We talked about Aaron’s start in the business, the current failure rate of the 360, how important it was to launch before Sony and Nintendo, E3, payola accusations and how Microsoft views the Nintendo Wii. Aaron even drops his Xbox Live Gamertag and PSN ID so you can play with him online.

great cut throat interview Torrence . That interview questioned greenberg on everything i would ask him . amazing job torrence , some other people should step up to the plate and take notice. thats exactly how an interview should be conducted.

ok, first off, this was a fantastic interview. great questions and solid answers (obviously there were some things he couldn’t directly answer, that’s understandable).
but when he tried to bullshit his way around the exclusives question, i jumped up and had to type this lol. really, he thinks by comparing Halo and Gears to Killzone and Resistance that that sums up the whole comparison? as if God of War, Gran Turismo, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, and Heavy Rain weren’t coming out? plus all the other games that are rumored or playing the background? lol, he was full of shit on that answer. i know he’s got a job to do, but still. the 360 has some great first party exclusives, but Sony’s are just better.
and obviously Aaron hasn’t played Valkyria Chronicles when he was trying to act like Fable 2 was the only good RPG released last fall/winter.
one again, though, great interview.

Contrary to what many people believe over on N4G, i think Aaron is a quality person. Great job and keep it up

So I had a problem when you said that playstation never had any competition up until now.
Im sure you didnt mean to say that because Sony had huge competition in the past.
With the PS1 they had the nintendo and sega, nintendo who was a strong competitor with the name already backing them.
With the PS2 we had Dreamcast, Gamecube, and the Xbox.
Maybe I didnt fully comprehend what you meant. But its obvious they didnt have an easy ride.

I didn’t care for Greenburg much, but he seemed much more sensible in this interview than other ones.
Maybe due to length, there was actually time for him to speak his mind more thuroughly?
I think many of my impressions of Aaron are due to the tendancy in game journalism to sensationalize.
He seems like a pretty decent guy, and I’m glad my mind has been changed.

Yo Torrence sweet interview must say…. I give you a lot of respect for not only asking good questions but for being able to flow with the answers you got and respond back like a normal conversation…. instead of robotic like some other people would…….
I would also have to say this… out of all of the big wigs for the gaming companies right now I would give the most respect to Greenburg for this interview…. he was real and to the point and didnt really dodge anything you asked…. Like in reality how many big names for the companies would sit there for a 1 hour interview and answer the questions you asked… I believe NONE…. they would dance and tippy toe and try to talk down the competition and try to spin things to make it all about their system and how it is better…. Aaron was as real as he probably could have been and people have to respect that… he could take the route the other companies have done and do the avoidance tactic and never answer the question you ask and just reword the question to what they want to answer…..
Anyway… this is a great interview and makes me give a lot of respect to Aaron Greenburg and I cant wait to see who you have next time…… maybe a 1v1 with one of the developers dropping bombs at E3? that be sweet…..
