I don’t know why console sales became such a focal point this gen. I don’t know why some gamers suddenly morphed into what we call fanboys. But what I do know is that engaging these people in hardware sales is just flat out fun. Both sides are so good at spinning that I think some of these people missed their calling in life.
And I don’t want to hear media types complain about fanboys because the media caters to the fanboys with flamebait titles, flamebait articles, and some really biased articles/reviews.
Who the bleep is the side by side comparison for anyway? Fanboys. I know you don’t do that crap but I’m addressing the media in general.
Anyway, gratz on your new system. Sounds like a monster. I hope you eventually incorporate that Warzone countdown on your site because I would love to at least get in the chat room during the show but I don’t know when you guys record it.

good to know that the DD is gonna be daily from now on, but i can’t help but think i heard this b4.:p
the hd version was an MP4 file running at 720p 30fps. for a 14 minute file 469MB is a lot of space. a half an hour episode is gonna be 1gig at this quality. wouldn’t a lower bitrate rendered in h.264 wmv be better spacewise? just asking, you the expert.;)

Thanks for all the positive comments man! Shit, I thought I did this in 1080p. WTF. The new software I’m using doesn’t do h.264. I’m kinda pisst. I forked over $129 to use it because it has great features and even flash export built in. I’ll have to fuck around with the quality but I think I exported this one at 5000 kbps. I usually do 2000 so a few more DD later and I think I’ll get it down.
The only people that should care about sales is Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo doesn’t have to, all they gotta care about is counting the money thats rolling in. Its so ironic though because neither Sony or Microsoft is really worried about sales. Its just the fanboys.
BTW,,, I know who is making a big deal about sales. Its the people who’s first console is either the ps3 or 360. Its the kids that use their mommy and daddy’s internet to whine about all things that don’t matter. Never in my life of gaming since the Atari 2600 have I ever cared about sales. Why do these douche bags care? Its simple really. Its cause they are kids.

i was messing around with a bit of highly customisable rendering freeware the other day. although you most probably might have heard of it b4, here it is anyways, i hope it helps. it supports h.264 and many other codecs.

I found out that 1440×1080 is a format for a lot of these home HD cams. In fact, I read on AVS forums that the big Sony movie HD cameras shoot at 1440 then upconvert to 1920. There’s a lot of speculation about that resolution.
this is why i think people care about sales. They are probably thinking too much about what happened to the dreamcast. Just guessing,
But I don’t think these three companies are in the same situation as sega was back then. Nintendo could have been in that situation if they had decided to build a console for the harcore gamers(hi-spec console) with the same library of games they had in the past generation. but as far as i know for now it’s all good, there is a balance in the force.
It don’t matter if your console is first or last, there is something for everyone.
good job on your machine, i build my first computer not so long ago but for different purposes (3D modeling, animation, rendering etc), but i also wanted to ask, since i still got my old computers (dual core desktop, dual core laptop), and a new on one (quad core desktop), would it be possible to build a small render farm with these computers or do i need all of them to have the same specification.

it works good because of your new hardware.
i used same specs on the xp and windows 7 and windows Xp works and performs better then windows 7.
