This lead to a discussion about Flamebait VS Sensationalism. All newspapers use sensationalism to sell papers. Some fishwraps actually lie like Star Magazine for instance. Sorry tor. I was talking about shit that soldiers do in real life, and that dude said that running for 8 seconds with heavy armor on isn’t realistic. Ive got friends that have died in real life in the war on terrorism. The armor on their chest and the stuff on their back is the only thing that saved my friends life from an rpg to the chest. He can run for 2 miles straight without even flinching. If you think what I said was rude, I apologize. But that dude would get smacked like a little bitch by my friends that are actually active duty. I have a buddy who is a merc that makes 80 grand a month. I cant even begin to tell you what that dude can do in real life. You wouldn’t believe me.

This episode of the Warzone was great!! I loved these quotes: “It’s just wasting internet bandwidth that a 3rd world could use.” “We’re common sense gamers.” “Yo’ it sounds like a f@#$ing alien is on here!” Gotta love it!! x] Torrence are you ever sleepy when you record the show?? Sometimes you say silly things that I can only attribute to lack of sleep. It’s not a big deal because I find it entertaining. I thought HipHop made a good point when he talked about the faults of the Mortal Kombat franchise. When he compared MK to SFIV I found it was brilliant. The thing about MK to me is that you can play just about all of the characters the same. There is no diversity. With SFIV and Tekken I feel like you can never master each character by learning 1 character. On top of that every person isn’t going to play each character the same way. There is nothing deep about MK at all. I haven’t really liked MK since psrt 2 (which is why I have it on PS3). Every time I play Tekken (Dark Resurrection currently) and SFIV I learn something new. Just recently I learned completely on accident in SFIV is that Blanka’s hard punch roll will fly through Seth’s ultra. Torrence get SFIV on PS3 and I’ll school you!!

The only bad thing I can say about home is the required 3gb reserve space just to use HOME. Especially when HOME isn’t even using that space.
@snskid I agree with Hip Hop, and personally they could have tried to approach that 2D with 3D elements thrown in, but Midway almost had it with MK vs. DC and great game I recommend to a lot people. It was only missing a few things like he had mentioned on the podcast. Midway is just tired of trying I think. Ubisoft needs to get it and see what they could do. So HHG what you are saying in the Warzone is basically what we already knew when it comes to Hydro. We alreay know you provide the material that he post but at the same time the material he post is more about pushing opinion as fact. That is the issue with the majority of the articles on your site. Really it comes down to the fact that ou bitch or claim fanboys are what they are but fanboys are what fuel your site. Fanboys is who you really relate too when it comes to the majority of articles being about opinion pushed as fact. The cotinued agenda about What Sony has that MS doesn’t or vice versa is old. The same will 20XX be the year of the PS3????? AGAIN???? MAYBE??? The articles are poorly written and it is clear you don’t review the articles before posted but it is actually pretty clear that doesn’t really matter because alot of your articles along the “flaimbate” titles to your podcast continue to stir that fanboy audience that is embraced since the beginning. Most of the stuff I see on your site is mostly rumors or information that has already been corrected by developers, companies or inaccurate information simply posted. Also, another issue with Hydro and his articles that he doesn’t provide links to actual articles that had done the work and even then personal opinion within the article is pushed as fact and at the end of the day “HHG gave me the material excuse” That doesn’t fly. We already know who the ignorant are whether they post on your site or N4G. Why have him spend the energy responding to ignorant or racist members on either site? i totally agree with you mboojigga. HHG’s site is opinion that presents itself as fact. As far as the controls of killzone, I agree with torrence that you should learn the controls of the game rather than demand a change. That also goes for resident evil. Is it just me or does HHG only defend ps3 exclusives to the death rather than multiplatform titles like Resident evil.

Great show open. HipHop gobbled you up on that Lost Planet topic. I’m a single console owner and I passed on Lost Planet because I only have so much money and I wasn’t about to spend my hard earned money on an inferior version. And I’m sure I’m not alone as evidenced by the sales. I rented it though. No reason not to buy an old game? Sure there is. When it comes out for full retail price and it’s a year old that’s a plenty good reason. I rented Bioshock for that very reason. And you gotta stop asking the room a question and acting like that’s a barometer for gamers in general. You guys are the hardcore of the hardcore. Some of you are journalists. Torrence, you’d sell KZ2 if they make the controls like COD4? Wow. Now that’s crazy. If you love COD4′s controls then why would you sell KZ2 if the devs made the controls more like COD4 because so many people are complaining. Same thing with RE5. I’m not buying it because the gameplay/controls are antiquated IMO. I think the solution to this is devs giving the option of playing either style. Perhaps giving a trophy or achievement for playing using the realistic controls in KZ2 or the traditional controls in RE5.
@lifendz – nah. They did change the controls and I still have it. My point is that KZ2 stood apart from the rest. why make it like the rest? I’m pissed about the controls but getting used to them. Like I said in the forums, the gaming community came together and got something changed and that’s not a bad thing.
True. I gotta admit, I’m much more comfortable with the controls as is rather than how they used to be. I wasn’t complaining like some people but beating Visciar Circle on Hard with the controls like they were was impossible. I recently got past that stage on Elite (working on my gold trophy) in like 4 tries. It was MUCH easier this time out because the delay was gone. Oh yeah, stop slacking on the Davis Dailies. @ the show *** I was laughing about the Lost planet debate. You guys are both right, and you guys are both missing a (small) point. - HHG is right because I myself wanted the game when it first came out, but my interest just waned as other games came out; but I was still interested in the storyline, from what I looked at, it seemed to be an interesting story, but I don’t know why people are saying that the story is complicated at all. -Tor’s is also right because all because a game is out for a year doesn’t change the quality of a game, and on top of that, commercials are for the parents and people who don’t keep up on videogames, a games enthusiast will have already been clued in on the game with or without commercials (WarDevil, anyone?) ()()()You both missed a couple of (small) points: -Lost Planet wasn’t a “must have” in that is wasn’t an extremely “great” game to begin with, and the danger of putting out a game that late is because if the game is all hype, the hype has time to be defeated by truth. The controls were a little slow and the controls could have been tweaked to begin with on the 360 with a patch, but they didn’t even fix those controls. Interesting? Yes. Good? Hmmm… not so much. Besides, the PS3 version scored -Lost Planet also lost points (for me) because they didn’t take advantage of the Blu-Ray. Tor and I both agree that most PS3 exclusive games and just about all of the multiplats don’t use up the disc, so to do something like throw on developer Vlogs, or outtakes, or commercials and clips would be a sweet addition for a game that’s coming out a year later. Command and Conquer’s doing it, because they know that even a 360 owner who purchased the 360 version would get the PS3 version if it’s jam-packed with goodies. *** about the Killzone Controls: Input lags my butt. Weighted controls aren’t laggy controls, period. Carrying a M-60 should never be as fluid as carrying a handgun. That’s why everyone eventually will run around carrying a shotgun in most games, because why pull out a pistol when you have an instant caliber disadvantage and no dexterity plusses? In Killzone, people who are running around with shotguns are doing so with minimal success in terms of board domination. A pistol in the right hands can take down a person with a shotgun because of the speed and accuracy of a pistol. Well done Tor and others for seeing that. Comparing RE 5 to KZ 2 wasn’t the best comparison because most everyone can move and shoot, whereas it’s very rare that people can wield a handgun like a shotgun in terms of dexterity. Halo was indeed killed when CoD 4 came out, but K2 killed CoD4. Halo is still one of my favorite game franchises of all time, but it got killed twice over. ***N4G sucks because of the bias and clownish news. Yeah they do more than news, but at the cost of integrity. I don’t want your site or HHG’s site to turn into N4G’s clownish atmosphere; N4G is becoming the Jerry Springer of the gaming world, almost rivaling Kotaku and IGN. I will admit, though; the flashy article will draw people, but there has to be a balance between a catchy article and a baiting article… it’s a trial and error process, but if effective, it will be the icing on the cake of the article, not something someone has to dig through to get to the good stuff . ***Employees can have a bias, and often do, but it’s their duty to attend to the customer’s wants and needs, not to inject their own bias into the equation unless a person asks for their opinion, which is different than a list of facts. “Caveat emptor”. Guess what?, Killzone 2 isn’t all that, it did nothing special at all, nothing but look good, & that wasn’t anything Gears or COD has done. If we don’t bitch, our passion for games would go away fast. SONY, where the hell is the damn CO-OP in friggin KILLZONE 2, why the hell did you let them leave that MAJOR feature out of the damn game? With a some low scores & some sorry-ass first day sales, if GG gets another chance to develop Killzone 3, I’ll bet that feature is added. With more features Killzone 2 would’ve sold more than 350k its first weekend in this country.

Also, The Warzone is the best show I’ve ever listened to. I used to listen to ign, rebel fm, n4g, ps3 beyond, etc…. I had some 60 podcast on my ipod. For my ipod, its The Warzone 1st & DLB 2nd, the shows are great, I can never listen to the others again. & I don’t agree with everything you guys say as you can tell in my last post.
@METAL: I hope the do to, the controls didnt bother me or my 9year old boy. I beat the first 2 stages with the sheriff’s pistol, with the rocket launcher on my back after I blew the bridge. I kept it for special effect. The best part of the game was the ending, very good. My son beat that guy on his 5th try with the pistol mostly. After beating the game, I played some stages on Elite, very good, still used my pistol a lot. I thought the game was very good, don’t get me wrong, but not close to as good as some SONY fans make it out to be. Level variety killed the game for me until the last 2&1/2 stages. The train stage wasn’t as good as the train portion of Gears 1 that K2 copied. No CO-OP?!, that’s bull! To many scripted events. The enemy AI was very good, however they almost ruined that with the re-spawning of enemies in portions of the game. Re-spawning was well disguised, but experts like my son & myself caught it. The game is good, very good, but not WOW, like some think.
Sony fanboys call it “teh best game evar” and xbox fanboys call halo or gears the best.Might as well play the game for yourself to make your own opinion.I like killzone because it feels unique.There aren’t that many games that cause a WOW factor for me.You sure aren’t gonna get it from a shooter because there are way too many on the market.

@METAL: Exactly correct, we should play games we like most. For instance, FPS’s is what I live for, there cant be enough shooters for me. If you look at it, there’s enough games in each style, RPG, RTS, ACTION, SPORTS, FPS’s, everything is out. However, only a few get it right. There are many pairs of gym shoes on the market, you’ll only see me in a fresh pair of Jordan’s, or something from Nike. I feel best in Nike shoes. There are many shoes out, only a few deserve a purchase. I’m not buying some Blue Light Special Kmart Trax, but it is an option, like the many shooters on the market. Buy the best, I only purchase AAA FPS’s, period.
I love listening to the Warzones. It just awesome listening to real gamers and its nice to catch a break from all the fanboyism populating most gaming websites. I completely agree with Shaw about the gaming community. Now is a time for gamers to be thankful, but instead its divided for no fucking reason. I don’t get it. @METAL It must be AAA by my standards, not reviewers, I don’t know what their agenda is. Ive been playing games since 1976, my credential are as good or better than every reviewer out there. Sometimes a reviewers 9 is a lying-@ss 9 & don’t mean anything. If its not AAA, its for my kids, & they play very little non AAA titles.

Having 2 kids will slow your spending, also, devs have to earn my money. @Torrence: podcast #34 The reason SONY released Killzone 2 at the end of the month is they wanted to win 2 months worth of sales. I hate to tell SONY, it isn’t happening. This would look good for NPD, companies & developers use that as a selling point to investors for the possibility of the next iteration. 2.COD 4 didnt kill Halo 3: Halo 3-sales leader for 2007 & most played if not its Halo 2. Halo 3-most played game 2008. Halo 3-just left the top 50 sales charts recently, COD 4 is nowhere to be found. 3.Killzone 2 #’s were released: 352,294 US #’s & 725,919 WW first weekend or 2 days. I think its terrible, K2 should’ve sold 2million WW, someone lied as I suspected. SONY or whoever came up 1.3million short. 4. About K2 being so realistic, shooting a Shotgun (example you used) is powerful, yes. With that said, are these guys we control trained as the most elite soldiers that army has? There you go. The only problem I have with the Warzone is, its on only once a week. I listen to the Warzone at least 3 times during the week waiting on the next. Just started listening to the warzone and I had to come over here and comment on that lost planet statment torrence made . I believe he is a smart man and in part he is right about a feww things but his way of thinking keeps me freom taking much of his advice about games. And its target audience. Though some people do go way to far with it (ex. calling Hip Hop out of his name), so did you. I have many friends, I was very popular, only 1 of my boys has passed. Ron was the point guard on my College Team, passed when he was in his office at the Pentagon when one of those planes hit near his office. My uncle was supposed to attend Purdue University on a football scholarship, he opted to fight in the War. My uncle was the only survivor when his vehicle rolled over a land mine, killing everyone on board but him. He was shot in the head, burned over 90% of his body, lost a hand, other hand is burned stiff not able to move 1 finger. He is still alive today. See, I have a full & complete understanding of the seriousness of life. When you have kids as I do ( 9 & 6 ), your understanding of life’s importance will greatly increase. I use video games & sports to pass time, to escape the reality of life. I will argue about Nothing, absolutely nothing, but video games & sports: everything else is the real world & things we must do to put food on the table & stay alive, so why argue about it? Real life that is. My favorite personalities ever are Ali, Air Jordan, Prime Time (Deon Sanders), & the most recent member of my top 10 is The Hip Hop Gamer. Hip Hop has a passion for games, though I agree with about 6% of what he says, the debates are great & I hope he’ll never change. Hip Hop had a show: he was talking to one of his fans & the kid said his father died recently & Hip Hop changed immediately. Take a visit to n4g if you havent already and just look at the bullshit articles, and posts on those articles and then come back and tell me that shit is justified. If you ask half the people why they are unhappy with something and ask them to explain it they can’t, all they can say is it sucks, it just sucks. Its time for people to stop being analysis and play and enjoy games, if you don’t want to spend 60 bucks on a game thats your buisness i and the rest of the world don’t need to know that and we shouldn’t care either. we spend too much time bitching and moaning about games instead of playing them. I understand you have two kids but what does that have to do with gaming and why should we care.(not being an ass but it sounded like it.) My point was to stop the bullshit and get back to real debates and topics on gaming and its culture not bullshit about sales, and how long its being played. since when did we have a stake in any of these companies? play what you want because you want to play it not because other people play it. Gaming is not a popularity contest and people should stop making it out that way. Got to get back to work so ill say more later.
Bullywithfully 01: You’re all over the place. You say at one point its a discussion or debate or bitch or whatever your flavor is at the moment. You say “you understand I have kids but what does that have to do with gaming & why should we care.” Its a discussion, first of all, 2nd its another avenue to know what your kids are doing & what their interests are, 3rd your playing together when parents do nothing with their kids, 4th others Ive told about my kids & I with 2 360′s in the house playing 2 & 3 player co-op games, more than 20 of my friends have done the same with their children. Its great, another avenue to get to know your kids better by doing something fun as hell. I know there are fools with no substance on other sites, there are fools on all sites, there are fools in the US Government that think MLK shouldn’t have a holiday. Those are the people you should say, why should we care what they think. Also, I know you weren’t talking about Hip Hop, I used him because he is passionate & takes his gaming serious as I do, but it isn’t the real world & we understand that. I think its alright to war on another game & its sales, its the industry. My boys & I have been debating video games since Atari, Odyssey, Intellivision, Nes, Colecovision, & Sega Master System controlled us. Back then, we had no jobs, we could only get 1 system, & we still went back & forth, playing the hell out of everything with Atari being the winner. That was fun as hell & the same guys do the same s*** today & we’re all 40 with 1 kid at 30 yrs old. My degree is in business, when I debate, its heavy on the sales side, as Torrence said in a Warzone: buy the damn game: to SONY fans, talking about Killzone 2. If they don’t, investors will not fund the next effort. Good debate?, I think. I need to pick-up my kids, I call them Spartan 117 & Spartan 458. Not that you care but I said it anyway.
