Davis Daily 02-17-2009: Pointless Arguments About Graphics

I’ve seen arguments daily about how the PS3 exclusive games look better than the 360 exclusive games. Not only that, but people are also saying that the 360 can’t do games like MGS4 or Uncharted. I’d like to know why people are even posing these arguments. If you aren’t a developer, how can you say what each system can and can’t do? This Davis Daily is dedicated to the PAAG(Pointless Arguments About Graphics).

Sega And 20th Century Fox Do AVP

Well I hope it’s better than the movies. It’s nice to see that this franchise won’t die though. Here’s the full release from Sega, more goodies to come in the future: Read the rest of this entry »

It’s funny that Ready 2 Rumble was brought back for the Wii. It was always a fun game and it’s nice to see it in the wake of Facebreaker. Now we can get back to some quality comedy boxing once again. Here’s the latest trailer for the game. Watch the trailer and then click the badge to see more info on the game. Expect to see it in March.

Bizarre Creations to make two 007 titles

Everybody knows that Activision dropped what looked like an almost perfect Bond game with Quantum of Solace for the next generation platforms. Now it appears there are two new games in the works from the world of James Bond. Here’s what I found out: Read the rest of this entry »

Video Game Warzone #31: Who’s Really A Game Journalist And Who’s Not?

On todays show we debate journalism, what it is and what it’s not. Can bloggers be journalists? Can a journalist be a blogger? Do you need a degree in journalism to become a journalist? We tackle all these questions and come up with some definitive answers. Also on the show:

* What 5 games would you take to the grave with you? (Commenters please list yours!)
* PS3 SFIV selling out like crazy.
* We talk about the possibility of Final Fantasy XIII being delayed til 2011 and what Square SHOULD do.
* Killzone 2 demo not up to par with the review build? It’s unanimous!
* Wii games at comic con.
* Ghostbusters looks like an animated movie
* and much much more!

Sony Shutting Down It’s Last US Playstation Store, Just When MS Is Set To Open Hundreds Of Stores.

Sony is closing down its one-and-only U.S. PlayStation store at the Metreon mall in San Francisco. The recession is clearly to blame, but it’s happening at time when Microsoft — which opened and shut its own Microsoft store at the Metreon — is going to open a chain of its own stores.

PS3 Street Fighter IV Collector’s Edition Selling for $139 On Amazon

An inside source has informed me that SFIV Collector’s Edition for the Playstation 3 is now sold out in local shops and is selling on Amazon for $139.00. You can still find the 360 version of SFIV on Amazon for $79.00. It seems that the battle of the D-Pad was won on the Playstation 3, as there seems to be more pre-orders for that console. If you haven’t pre-ordered the Playstation 3 version yet, I advise you to pick it up now before it sells out on Amazon and winds up on Ebay for $250.

God Of War III Trailer

I shit my pants at 2:35. I’m a GOW noob. It never caught on for me but I bought the first one before I left California. I’m about half way through now and I heard that GOW II blows the first one away. I was so excited after seeing this trailer that I’m going to beat part I this weekend and pick up a copy of part II.

SF IV Launch Event

It’s been a long time. What brought me out of hibernation? SFIV. Here are some pics. Saw Bai Ling there. Ran into Aaron Greenburg who had much love for HipHop. Also, ran into Rob Welkner from Coin-Op TV. I got into the VIP area too late and missed Levar Burton. Check out more event pics after the break.

GGR: Moon DS is a Failed Launch

Moon for Nintendo DS was decent for a FPS on DS… but it was still sloppy. I give it a C.
