This game looks like it will be a fun ride. I keep hearing how awesome the first game was and how it broke the barrier on Xbox graphics capabilities. This game will usher a new genre called FPS(First Person Slicer). It seems as if there is a huge emphasis on melee/knife play. This is good. Enjoy the trailer!

As with the 2008 game, MLB09 will be launching on all 3 of Sony’s platforms. The PS2 version of the game is no slouch. They’ve added an enhanced player creation feature that still has the option of using the Eye Toy to map your own face on to your characters. This is a feature that I was hoping would make it’s way to the PS3 version. As you can see in these screenshots, the graphics have been beefed up too. This game will release day and date with the PS3 and PSP versions. Enjoy the pics:

Damn, the controllers are still warm from Operation Anchorage and Bethesda is already gearing up for the second DLC pack, The Pitt. The Pitt takes place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Virtua Tennis 2009 is coming to the Wii this year. How awesome is that? I seriously hoped they changed the control scheme to be more fluid. If they did, this could be the best tennis game to date. Here’s the release from Sega: Read the rest of this entry »

I find it truly amazing that the best baseball game ever made could get better. Yep, you read it right, MLB09 is better than last years jaw dropper. The laundry list for this years outing is incredible.  Here are some of the new features:

• Wear and tear on the field
• Dusk to night lighting transitions
• Online leagues
• The ability to record your voice and add it to the crowd noise(Best feature ever in a sports game)
• Enhanced custom MLB music tracks
• Walk up music for each player

I’m kind of dissappointed because I haven’t finished my MLB08 season yet and with the feature set in this game, I might have to just put 08 down and jump on 09!  Not only did 08 have the best graphics in a baseball game, the entire feature set and franchise mode are also the best I’ve seen.  They enhanced those as well with the new game.  Of course you now get native 1080p/60fps graphics to boot.  Enjoy the trailer and look for screenshots and coverage of the PS2 and PSP versions in the next couple of days.

Whats up gamers! Well I don’t have any big news yet for this week but I did get something small that could turn into something big. Today I got wind that the DSi will be released this April 5th. What you might not realize is that not everyone may be able to get there hands on the next big upgrade of this DS. Local retailer GameStop will start taking pre-orders sometime tomorrow or sometime this week. It’s also been reported that this pre-order of the DSi will be VERY limited. Anyone looking for this baby better go quick because as soon as its put up for pre-order it will disappear in a flash. You can take that to the bank. Here’s Nintendo’s full press release:

My friend Michelle Hummel from younghollywood.com, had the pleasure of getting some interviews with the Street Fighter movie cast at Capcom’s SFIV launch party. MCD last played Street Fighter 20 years ago?! Wow! Enjoy the clip!

Wow more sequels! I hope they plan on taking the game to the next level. I’m getting tired of the sequel-mania that’s going on. RE5, KZ2, SF4…come on guys, put pen to paper and make something original. Other than that, fans of this game have reason to get excited.
