The world of gaming is beginning to evolve. With the increased popularity of online gaming, there have been many predictions the one day online gaming will exceed offline console and pc gaming in terms of quality and popularity. No longer is online gaming confined to blackjack or poker. Most of the world's best games can be played online!

Yeah I bought into Tors hype and got Fear 2 day one. It wasn’t a bad game by any means, but its definitley just a rental. The online is terrible. BTW, good graphics don’t make a good game. It seems thats the route that Monolith took. Such a disapointment because I actually liked the story mode. Thanks for making me waste 65 bucks Tor. I wont ever take your advice again when it comes to games. BTW, SF4 is phenomenal. That is my first blockbuster since Motorstorm 2 last year.

after playing the demo for FEAR2, i shed a little tear to the atrocious piece of garbage that the franchise evolved into, and the shame that monolith brought upon themselves. i am a huge fan of the original FEAR for the PC back in early 2005, i still play the multiplayer up to this day.

FEAR2 is a very dumbed down version of the original game, the AI in FEAR2 is a joke, the horror element in the original game was subtle and out of your face, and maintained an effective element of suspense. in FEAR2 the horror element has been turned into this ugly, nasty, in your face whore, that tries way too hard to be noticed. how people can say that they were scared by FEAR2, is way beyond me.

people that haven’t played the original FEAR for the PC, may not know what i’m talking about. this is a perfect example of a great PC game being absolutely killed by these so called nex-gen systems./rant

i have played the pc version in its entirety, and imo FEAR2 played like a shell of its former self and deserves nothing more than 5/10.

  • Dragonwarrior – OUCH! That hurt man. Well don’t buy KZ2 then. I HIGHLY recommended that one too. Me, I love FEAR 2. Loved the alpha, loved the beta and as soon as I finish FEAR, I’m getting FEAR 2. Time to get Killzowned again.

    Peace!

I absolutely love FEAR 2. Originally, I had doubts about getting it because I hated the first FEAR. Nothing but good times ever since I picked it up. Also, I just picked up Killzone 2 today, but I think i’ll finish FEAR 2 first. It will be a busy weekend!

Wow, ever get the feeling people are playing totally different games?

A simpler way to put my take on FEAR 2 would be that it is good, not great. Sadly I don’t think a huge amount of work would have been needed to take it over the top, but it didn’t reach that mark. I do agree with JMD749 that the horror style is very different in Project Origin than the original FEAR, but I don’t think that means it’s garbage, just different. I enjoyed the solo-player much more than the limited online I played (not many people are playing it) and thyink Monolith should really focus on the storyline next time, maybe even trading out multiplayer entirely for a co-op campaign instead.

I liked playing Fear 2… but since the online … welll just wasnt that great…. I decided to keep it at a rental… the single player story is good… and it does drag out in parts like the review says…. Id say everyone should try it… but for me its not a buy

@ Tor. Dont get me wrong buddy. I love the shit out of you man. Your the king of the gaming media, but you dont seem to understand what gamers should get for $65 dollars. I thought Fear 2’s single player was the best ive played in a long time, but the multiplayer plays like dog dookie man. The maps are puny, the multiiplayer itself is unorganized, and it really isn’t that much fun. Its just not worth the full price. Its all about the value man.

Look at a game like Killzone and compare it too Fear 2 and its a night and day difference which one is worth 65 and which one isn’t. Its not like im hurting for money, its just that I could have spent that money on other games that are worth the full price like Empire Total War, or even Hawx. BTW,, Killzone 2 is better then I anticipated. They could have sold it for 80 and I would have bought it. I wish there was a limited addition.
