Well I was hoping to have some good news for Playstation fans today. I got a few emails yesterday asking if Bethesda will release ANY DLC for Fallout 3 on the Playstation 3. I can’t believe I didn’t ask Pete this question when I interviewed him. I did what any journalist would do…I sent him an email.
One more question. Since posting that interview I’m getting a lot of emails
from Playstation 3 owners. They want to know if you plan on releasing ANY
dlc for the PS3 version and what time frame?Your PS3 fans would really appreciate if you could answer this question.

Fallout 3 DLC is for Xbox 360 and PC.
Now in yesterday’s interview, Pete told me that they always planned on releasing DLC. So it’s not like Microsoft came in and asked them to create it like they did with Rockstar. Maybe Microsoft just liked what they were doing and bought the exclusive rights across the board. This means that any DLC released for Fallout 3 will always be 360/PC exclusive.

Looks like Bethesda gets no money from me. I’ll just pirate the PC version with all the content. I was more than willing to pay for it on my PS3, but if Bethesda is going to back me into a corner like this, then I guess piracy works in my favor.
Well, I was going to pick this game up at a later date for my PS3, but now there’s no real use to do so. Torrence you should have asked him “why even bother making a PS3 version if those gamers aren’t allowed the full experience?”. It doesn’t really make any sense?
I don’t mind DLC when it comes to exclusive games but with multiplatforms…it’s not right for either side. I was considering this game because it looked like fun and I never played a Fallout 3 game before. But they’re not getting my money.

All this bitching about a PS3 version of DLC Eclusives never died folks they just evolved into DLC. Get over it. All the comments about pirating and I am not going to get the PS3 version as if you had a choice since some of you are single owners anyway probably won’t affect the sales of individuals who understood the DLC content is only on those platforms so they will buy it on those platforms. Get over it
@mboojigga I am over it, personally I don’t really care. I’m just expressing my opinion, which I have every right to do. And, you can get off your “God like” high horse there guy, you’re not the only one who has a right to an opinion and we don’t have to “Get over it” because you say so! Although I don’t really agree with pirating software as a whole, but I do agree with TristanMike. It does seem like Bethesda is trying to force people to buy a console many just don’t want to purchase, just to play the extended version of their game… piracy does seem like the only answer the problem!

@ CyberCam Playstation 3 owners are getting the full game. Bethesda created all this content after the game was complete. But I would think they are going to release a edition similar to Oblivion’s Game of the Year edition and release it on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
With the money they would make for the dlc, you would think they would release it on the ps3…but I guess MS were the smart ones in buying the dlc for this game…and a really great game at that….the real losers are the ps3 owners who bought the game and cant experience all the expansions…

lets think about this logically for a minute. The goal of any company is to make as much money as they can from their products. The Fallout 3 DLC is a hot product, selling like mad on 360 and highly coveted by PS3 owners. Do you really think Bethesda is going to miss out on all that PS3 money. Plus Bethesda always says the exact same thing when asked about DLC for the PS3. “Fallout 3 DLC is for Xbox 360 and PC.” PSN does not use the term DLC, they call it ADD ON CONTENT. They will either release the content in the form of an upgraded copy of the game for the PS3 or it will come to PSN as ADD ON CONTENT.
i never wanted to play this game cuz RPG’s are lame and boring. also the fact that failout3 from the get go was awlays going to shaft ps3 owners out cuz they like a nice fat check from M$ over many checks with SCEA on them.
All I can say is: play the game! Personally I don’t care about dlc, but if you do, play it on PC and that’s it. But, I will never buy a Bethesda game again. They showed with TESIV that they can do better on PS 3 and Fallout 3 is worse on PS 3 (engine, performance). Plus their decision to not make dlc for the PS 3.

I will never buy a product of yours again, even if you do release the dlc as PS3 GOTY edition down the road. Don’t go blaming the developers for this…maybe if sony were a little more forthcoming with pushing their console and demanding some more content it might actually happen? You all rant and rave saying never gonna pay for their games again? going to do the same to capcom too becasue of lost planet 2? get a grip yes you are annoyed but throwing a hissy fit is a bit immature. i personally don’t like fallout 3 i found it boring and very oblivion-esque.. so no DLC for me anyway but seriously? why ruin an industry even more by pirating more games? these companies struggle to break even as it is with games.
Well Electric, maybe if you’d get off your high horse and quit acting like your better than all of us. You would see we dont think were better than anybody. What we do think is, it’s bullshit that someone who bought the game can’t get all the content. Bethesda did the same thing for Oblivion. You cant get any of the DLC, only the official expansion packs. If they make this unbelievably stupid mistake on TES 5, they wont get my money on that either.

@ Zeyphr sorry if it came out that way. The childish piracy aimed remarks set my tone a bit off that really gets on my nerves… still you can’t really complain about not getting all the content. the game was complete at launch this aditional stuff is extra that one side probably helped fund to secure exclusivity. It’s not like the content is in the game now and you can lok but you can’t touch.. ( mostly refering to crackdown now where alot of the new missions are sitting in the game but when you try to do them it asks you to buy them) I’m not saying this is something to jsut get over but there are soem really over the top reactions to a developer “picking” sides, and i use that work loosely. There is more to this than what we can all see. I expect M$ may very well have chucked some cash at Bethesda that would cover expected sales of DLC on the ps3 to secure it for Xbox only.
What I really don’t appreciate about the way Bethesda is handling this situation is their apparent attitude or simple disinterest in this situation. “Fallout 3 DLC is for Xbox 360 and PC.” Really? That’s a pretty cold, cut and dry statement. As much as it irks me I can’t get too mad at Valves lack of support for the PS3. At least G.N. has the guts to to say he thinks the PS3 is a waste of effort and he wouldn’t wipe his ass with one. And Rockstar said openly that Microsoft paid for their exclusive DLC pack. I might not agree with what they say or do but at least they looked me in the face before they spit in my eye and for that I still buy Rockstar products and I still buy games with Steam, I’m even getting ready to buy Left4Dead for my PC this week. I might think Gabe Newel seems like a prick but he makes a great game and he isn’t LYING to me and every other PS3 owner. He at least let me know why Left 4 Dead isn’t coming to the PS3 and why the Orange box on it was a hack job. If the above statement is the best explanation that Bethesda feels that me and every other PS3 Fallout owner deserves then that tells me that they do not think very highly of us and really don’t care what we think of or do with their products. I even bought the Limited Edition game and guide from the bastards. @Electric, So how does my opinion say I think I’m better than everybody else exactly? I guess because I have have on to speak in the first place?
Honestly I don’t think that I will buy another product from Bethesta. If my console isn’t good enough for them nor is my money.
@TristanMike and others…just a warning… Any talk about piracy and you will be banned for a week. I’m tired of hearing about it. You have a choice, buy it for PC or buy a 360. If you choose to become a criminal to obtain something from a company because you are pissed at them for not making it on your preferred platform, you are not welcomed here. I absolutely HATE piracy. Here’s an analogy to ponder: A baker makes different sized breads. He makes bread that fits the Microsoft PC and 360 toasters and also the Sony Playstation toaster. Even though you own a PC toaster, you buy the Sony bread because you prefer to use the Sony toaster. He later comes out with meat and cheese slices that only fit the PC and 360 bread. Your angered by this and demand slices for the Sony bread but the baker won’t cut them for you. Your angered by this and rob the baker of his PC bread. The end result of all this is that you have become a thief…a low life criminal. You have solved nothing.

It will solve the problem of me having to buy the same game TWICE after already spending well over a hundred on it the first time through. And if they ever put the DLC on my platform I will still buy it, but I am not going to be railroaded into buying the game twice. I do feel that you should pay for what you play and PC gaming really does need the support of honest consumers. But, I don’t believe that I and other consumers should be have to repurchase the same product over and over again.So yes I’ll pirate it. And all the DLC packs as well until they release it on a platform that doesn’t require me repurchase something I already own. I didn’t moderate your post Highvoltage. I don’t think I’m some all knowing powerful leader, but I’m no follower. I believe in freedom of expression, but pirating is a blatant crime. Pirates are no different than the guy sticking you up for your wallet or the bank teller embezzling money. I don’t want talk of piracy on my site. It’s a rule.
