Tor,, Graphics have always mattered since the beginning of the console industry. I remember all the hype surrounding the Turbo Grapix 16 and the Sega Genesis all the way up to the N64 and Dreamcast.. Graphics have always mattered. You are right, people seem to always worry too much about graphics,, but the article’s and comments of all the fanboys talking about the 360’s graphics being on par or better then the ps3 are over. Now its time for Sony’s system to shine, and anyone who ever said that sony wouldn’t deliver needs to shut their mouth now.
As for Sony selling millions of copys of Killzone 2 in the first week. I dont know what to say about that besides the fact that Sony needs to market the shit out of that game. Its as plain and simple as that. The ps3 will never,,, ever sell Gears numbers because most of the people who own the system don’t even know about the games that are good. Most my friends haven’t even played Warhawk, Uncharted, Ratchet , and Heavenly Sword because they simply didn’t even know the games were out. Sony will never sell software despite the fact its 20 million strong unless sony advertises, and I just dont see it happening.
Torrence, stop beating the dead horse. System wars are as old as computer games. In Europe it was Sinclair Spectrum vs Commodore 64, Commodore 64 vs Commodore Amiga (yea, i know this is retarded but people were passionate enough to debate to no end. Commodore 64 inspired unique sense of loyalty.), Commodore Amiga 500 vs Atari ST series vs PC compatibles… 3 main points of argue were graphics and sound, games and demos (this last one is irrelevant for consoles). You can’t stop that. Nobody can. It’s core part of being human. Always trying to prove that you are better/smarter/more informed etc… also it’s awesome fucking comedy.
As for sales, forget it. Different types of people prefer XBOX360 and PS3. Picky people prefer PS3 more often and those are less likely to buy game on a whim of just because of hype. Also SONY will never match Microsoft in media blitzes in US.
TORRENCE, you’re getting me confused. first you ranted about the graphics obsession, then you go on to say that ps3 owners should buy KZ2 since it’s the best looking fps out there and it’s exclusive.(@06:00)
then you go on and on about the sales of KZ2 comparing it to gears and halo. i remember in a previous davis daily that you went on about how gamers should not worry about sales.

there’s nothing wrong in expecting a more expensive system that was advertised as being more powerful to have better graphics, but becoming obsessed over it to a point where you’re calling great games on another system crap, is where it becomes really sad and sometimes annoying.
i already have my copy of killzone 2 pre-ordered. for over 2 months now actually.:) i hope it sells well, but i’m not bothered either way, that’s sony’s job, if they don’t get it by now, they never will.
anyways, that’s my 2 cents.
As a PS3 owner. I’m NOT buying KZ2. I don’t play FPS. At all. TPS or bust for me.

i used to enjoy the old games to like Pitfall, pole position etc, but today i’d rather play uncharted, gran turismo 5 prologue. over these fossils. i can’t even look at mario anymore. (fucking wiii!)

Considering all the shady ports that’s been thrown into the faces of PS3 owners this gen, you don’t think it’s fair to be at least a “little” picky? That’s a developer problem, so whatever. Their loss.
Speaking about the “Challenge” you’re throwing out there-
Sony and Guerrilla are throwing PS3 owners a BIG fucking bone at the end of February, and yes, Torrence, they BETTER buy the game. If they don’t, and the game HAS been marketed like crazy like we’re told it will, you and I and everyone else will have nobody to pin the failures of the PS3 on except for the ignorant fanboys that forgot to pick up the game because they were too busy in the forums boasting about it.
Just think of how many Xbox owners don’t own either a copy of Halo3 or any Gears of War game? Are there ANY? If Kz2 doesn’t MATCH, if not SURPASS either of those titles, it’ll be pretty clear which fanboys REALLY need to shut the fuck up. Normally, I’d be quick to respond to unfair claims against the PS brand as much as anyone else who hates seeing that internet BS, but honestly, Torrence, KZ2 is THE GAME that SHOULD officially get PS3 and Sony off life support, out of their hospital beds, and swinging their fucking drip-stands like they’re fighting off the locust horde from that Geow2 tech demo. I couldn’t agree more that this challenge is completely necessary. Really glad you Threw it out there.
That being said, they do not need their internet care workers (ps fanboys) defending them anymore against the flamethrower that is the media—-the proof’s in the pudding, and if 99% of all ps3 gamers DON’T EAT THAT FUCKING PUDDING… Well.. Then they’re in the same boat as any other fanboy/rigz.

as for ur challenge i’ve already pre-ordered mine weeks ago, but giving a challenge to to the whole ps3 community just because you don’t agree to what was said on N4G post by some of the fans, makes me think that you don’t like ps3 users gloating about their system, who’s to say some of the don’t have a 360, or maybe used to have one.
let’s even things out: XBL is better service than PSN. XBox 360has a bigger install base than Ps3, Xbox 360 has more games than Ps3, etc… happy?
if only you could reach out to all 20 million ps3 users (us, eu, jp) with that challenge. then it would be a valid challenge. and to finish not all ps3 user share the views of the people you are refering to on N4G. I think you should withdraw that challenge, if all 20 million were on this site and could hear your challenge, then it would be a fair one. don’t take on all of us because u don’t like some of us.

@ 2051. How can you be a picky about the games you play and not pick up Killzone 2? Thats the craziest statement Ive seen in a long time. I dont know why any of you, even TPS fans wouldn’t wanna get this game? Your fanboyism is going to refrain you from playing the most coolest game to date. I really feel sorry for you people that consider yourselves hardcore gamers and don’t pick up this title. I would buy the game even if it had bad reviews. At least play the demo, and if you dont like it then your comments will at least have some actual logic behind them.

I have to keep it real and tell it like it is… this time TD you have unfortunately stuck your foot in your mouth. Torrance, you & I come from the same generation (40+) we have seen the rich history of gaming… my first gaming experience was pong. I’ve own almost every gaming system/ personal computing system in North America. My advice to you is to, try not to sweat the petty stuff (fanboyism), try & focus on the positives of gaming, not the negatives. I too get tired of all the crap that is plastered over the internet. Try a bring gaming forward & enlighten gamers not provoke them, there are many other sites (IGN, Ripten, Gamespot etc.), that chooses to segregate gamers more so than to bring them together. Do be one of them!
